Service group life insurance
Internal Regulations no. 74/94
Applies from 1 November 1994
Amended from 1 May 1999
The aim of these internal regulations is:

to provide brief information on the state occupational group life insurance scheme.
These regulations are based on:

Agreement on state occupational group life insurance (TGL-S)
All state employees are covered by the agreement on state occupational group life insurance
(TGL-S).
Insurance cover begins the day the employee starts working as an employee and is valid as
long as employment continues, however to a maximum of 65 years of age. If the employee
remains in employment after the age of 65, the insurance cover is still valid under certain
conditions and if the employer concludes his/her employment before the age of 65 there is a
certain length of extended cover.
This insurance cover provides financial protection for the employee's surviving
spouse/cohabitant and children. Financial compensation consists of:



Basic grant
Children's grant
Funeral assistance
If an employee's spouse/cohabitant dies and has no occupational group life insurance of his
/her own, this insurance provides a certain amount of cover for the employee.
In order to enjoy full insurance cover the employee must work at least 16 hours per week.
The National Government Employee Pensions Board (SPV) is the decision-making body as
concerns group life insurance. The SPV brochure on insurance may be fetched from the
relevant salary administrator. For more information please refer to
