February 12, 2007 thru November 4, 2011: Boise Behavioral Health Hospital
Director of Nursing in a 22-bed, acute psychiatric hospital specializing in the care of older adults with
dementia as well as other acute psychiatric disorders. In charge of approximately 40 employees that
included both licensed and unlicensed staff. Attended and participated in weekly interdisciplinary
treatment teams for families of patients. Provided required education to all staff as part of corporatewide training, training in crisis prevention interventions and CPR. I was a part of the performance
improvement process as well as participating in the risk management team. As part of the admissions
process, I reviewed potential referrals for medical and psychiatric issues to assure they met the criteria
for admission. Developed policies and procedures for the nursing department as well as the
interdisciplinary team.
