ICT O&M: Cost Center to Support Enterprise Growth
•Complicated CT systems require multiple
personnel for maintenance.
•Complicated ICT systems decrease
troubleshooting efficiency.
•Site deployment is time-consuming.
•Troubleshooting is energy-consuming.
•Frequent device faults interrupt services
and lead to high economic losses.
•Lack of scientific ICT planning lead to
duplicate investment.
According to a recent report from Forrester, about 70% IT investment goes to O&M.

Holistic and Visual Diagnosis: Identifying the Root Cause of a Fault
- IP Phone/Conference Scenario
Network side
Service side
1. Monitor voice quality to obtain sample
data and analyze low-quality voice data.
2. Perform quick
diagnosis over voice
services, helping locate
the fault.
Hierarchical positioning (terminal > network > terminal) quickly locates the device that influences voice
quality, helping rectifying the fault.

eSight Helps a Power Construction Group Explore Global Business

Project Background


Numerous devices: The company has more than 1xxx IT devices.
Large scale: 3-level systems
Few maintenance personnel: only 6 maintenance personnel

Huawei Solution

Established the eSight ICT O&M system at the company's headquarters to
deliver the following features: centralized deployment, unified management,
intuitive topology display, centralized fault and performance monitoring, and
E2E voice and video fault location.

Customer Benefits

Enabled 6 maintenance personnel to manage thousands of devices and a
single system to manage devices from diverse domains, greatly improving
work efficiency and reducing O&M costs.

22
eSight Helps a Telecom Carrier Achieve Unified Data Center O&M

Project Background
 Data centers are dispersed in two locations with few maintenance personnel.
 Diverse devices such as servers, storage devices, routers, switches, and
firewalls required unified management.
 Because of numerous servers and applications, the carrier wanted to learn
about host and application traffic components.

Huawei Solution
 Centralized
deployment: Deployed eSight at one data center to manage two
data centers.
 Deployed Network Device, Storage Device, and Server Manager
components to centrally manage data center devices.
 Deployed the Network Traffic Analyzer (NTA) to monitor host and application
traffic.

Customer Benefits


Unified data center O&M reduced maintenance costs.
O&M personnel used only one system to manage all devices, improving
O&M efficiency.
 Traffic monitoring helped detect abnormal applications and hosts in advance,
enhancing resource utilization.
23
eSight Builds a Unified IT Management Center for a World-Class Chain Hotel

Project Background
The customer planned to deploy a holistic ICT system including the data
center, network, voice, telepresence conferencing, video surveillance, and
Wi-Fi. The customer needed a holistic NMS to manage all devices and
reduce construction and O&M costs.

Huawei Solution
Integrated management: eSight enables unified O&M through integrated
wired and wireless management, data center management, as well as
UC/TP/video surveillance management.
Unified alarm and topology: eSight intuitively manages the device running
status and link relationships.

Customer Benefits
A single system managed all devices, greatly reducing construction costs.
Unified alarm and topology significantly increased O&M efficiency.
