BOX 348 MBARARA TEL: 0382-277958 JOB OPPORTUNITY Mayanja Memorial Medical Training Institute (MTI) trains health workers - Nurses, Midwives, Clinical Officers and Medical Laboratory Scientists and has the following vacancy to be filled: Job Title: Accounts Assistant Reports to: Accountant Salary Scale: MTI 8 Gross Salary: Shs 607,753= per month Duties and Responsibilities 1. Maintain and ensure the implementation of accounting and accounting control procedures. 2. Prepare timely monthly bank reconciliation statements for the Institute account(s). 3. Prepare and review budget, revenue, expense, payroll entries, invoices, tax deductions (PAYE and NSSF and others) and consequent remittance to the relevant authorities. 4. Budget planning, preparation, implementation and control and advise the accountant and management of any revisions where appropriate. 5. Analyze revenue and expenditure trends and recommend appropriate budget levels, and ensure expenditure control. 6. Record and safeguard the assets of the Institute. 7. Cash flow planning to ensure availability of funds for the smooth running and operation of the Institute. 8. Capture, document and store data. 9. Maintain financial data bases, computer software systems and manual filing systems. 10. Prepare the cash book on a daily basis by entering the daily transactions in the system and control of the imprest system. 11. Develop and maintain a stores management system and manage the inflows and outflows of materials. 12. Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time. Qualifications: Must have a B. Com or BBA degree – Accounting option and conversant with accounting packages, with 2 years working experience and should be knowledgeable on stores management.
