About the
Boston Treatment Center
Boston Treatment Center is a 50-bed inpatient
detoxification and treatment service that treats
and cares for men and women who need to be
medically detoxified from alcohol, opiates and
benzodiazepines.
Our treatment philosophy includes treating you
with dignity and respect, and we believe that
you have the ability to grow when given support,
education and direction.
We also believe that each person is different, and our goal is to help you find your own path to recovery.
About Lahey Health
Behavioral Services
We provide a range of outpatient,
inpatient and residential care,
including mental health clinics;
addiction treatment; family services;
mobile crisis teams; psychiatric
treatment and school-based
programs for children and teens.
We serve communities in Greater Boston, the North Shore and the Merrimack Valley, Massachusetts.
What is detoxification?
Detoxification is designed to treat the acute
physiological effects of stopping drug use, such as benzodiazepines, barbiturates and other sedatives, opiates and alcohol. In some
cases, detoxification is a medical necessity,
as untreated withdrawal may be medically
dangerous or even fatal. Boston Treatment
Center admits almost 5,000 people for
treatment each year.

Who We Serve
Our Services
How can we help you?
At the Boston Treatment Center we understand
substance use, dependence, or addiction as
a problem that has many causes that include
genetic, biological, psychological and social
reasons. We also believe that the reason people
struggle with substance use must be addressed in treatment if they are going to get better. These reasons are unique and different for each person.
1. Safe medical detoxification
We accept most insurances, including
Medicaid. We try to remain competitive in
pricing. When necessary, we make every effort
to help you pay for your treatment. We serve residents from all over Massachusetts,
with the majority of our clients coming from
the immediate surrounding communities of
metro Boston. We feel privileged to serve a
multicultural population, and many of our staff
are bilingual.
Who can be referred
2. Group counseling
3. Support from the community of others who are in recovery from addiction
4. Aftercare planning
5. Referral to ongoing care and/or 12-step programs
Generally, we accept referrals from the client him or herself, hospitals, shelters, other agencies,
families, or anybody who would like to get a
patient or loved one into treatment.
The Intake Process
We do an initial intake by phone or in person.
This pre-screening is focused on medical criteria
for detoxification and your current medical
conditions. If you meet the basic criteria, and you
if have a serious medical or psychiatric condition,
we may also need to do a medical evaluation.
If you are on certain medications, we may also
require a list of them.
Our fee structure is available to all patients, and we use monies received from other sources
for clients who qualify due to financial need.
Upon request, there is a sliding fee scale
available at the time of admission.
