and it is not yet approved, please provide the ACUC number:

If you have not submitted a request for approval, be aware that ACUC approval must be obtained prior to
the release of any funds (see note below).
NOTE: Agencies may review grants prior to ACUC approval; however, funds will not be released to
the PI until ACUC review has been completed. NIH has stated that under no circumstances may an
ACUC be pressured to approve a protocol and that adequate time must be allowed for the ACUC to
complete its review. Other funding agencies have different rules (contact the Sponsored Research
Services office or the funding agency for specific information). All grants utilizing vertebrate
animals require ACUC approval before funds will be released by FSU’s Office of Sponsored
Research. ACUC approval can require a minimum of 40 days from the time the protocol is
submitted to the ACUC and may take longer if revisions are needed.
