2007-2008 CHICK EMBRYO PROGRAM This program is designed to increase students understanding of embryo development and animal reproduction. Observing embryo development and seeing chicks hatch is an exciting experience for youth and adults alike. This program has many possibilities that may be adapted to fit various school age groups. 1. INCUBATOR – A limited number are available to borrow from the 4-H office, at the OSU Extension Center, PO Box 430, Newkirk, OK 74647. 2. FERTILE EGGS – Chicken eggs are available on each of the dated listed on request form in the middle of the booklet. Eighteen (18) chicken eggs will be available with each unit. 3. PRINTED TEACHER’S GUIDE – General information explains incubation, embryo development and care of chicks, lesson plans and transparency masters. Materials can be adapted to any age. 4. VIDEO TAPE – May be borrowed. One hour video illustrates the day by day development of the embryo. Call the OSU Extension Office to schedule (580-362-3194). 5. DELIVERY DATES – Three estimated delivery dates (February 12th, March 25th and April 22nd) are listed on the order form for eggs and incubator loan.
