Dear Patient, Welcome to QUEEN OF THE VALLEY REGIONAL WOUND CARE CENTER. We provide specialized treatment for chronic or non-healing wounds that have not significantly healed during conventional treatment. With the specialized treatment available at the Queen of the Valley Regional Wound Care Center, patients with slow-healing wounds no longer have to suffer or risk serious health complications. Our comprehensive approach can relieve pain, promote healing and help you recover from the disability that a persistent wound can cause. Our Services The Queen of the Valley Regional Wound Care Center offers the following services: • Removal of unhealthy tissue • Compression therapy • Special advanced treatment dressings • Infection management • Pain management • Patient, family and caregiver education Staff at Queen of the Valley Regional Wound Care Center We’ve brought together a team of wound care specialists who use the latest, most advanced treatments to help patients heal and get back to enjoying life. Our Location The Queen of the Valley Regional Wound Care Center is located at Queen of the Valley Medical Center, 1000 Trancas Street, within the Outpatient Surgery and Procedure Center of the hospital. From Trancas St., turn onto Villa Lane; then make your first left into the parking area; turn right at the stop sign. Hours and Contact Information Hours for the Queen of the Valley Regional Wound Care Center are Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. If you have a problem after hours or on the weekend, please notify our doctor, provider or Emergency Department. Visit our website at: wwwthequeen.org/wound For Your First Appointment Please bring your medical records, insurance card, a list of all medications you are taking, and a list of allergies you may have to your first appointment. You will undergo a thorough diagnostic examination to identify the type of wound and underlying causes. Please note, the first appointment could last up to two hours. Based on this initial exam, an individually tailored treatment plan will be developed for the patient. Subsequent visits can last up to an hour. While you are being treated at the Queen of the Valley Regional Wound Care Center, please inform your nurse of any changes in your treatment or medication regime. Fees for Services You will be charged a facility fee and a physician fee at the Queen of the Valley Regional Wound Care Center at the time of your visit. Many health plans cover wound care center treatments; we can help you determine what your specific plan covers. Home Supplies The Queen of the Valley Regional Wound Care Center does not provide take-home supplies. Supplies needed for “at home” dressing changes can be purchased from vendors of medical supplies or pharmacies. If needed, the nurse will assist you with this.
