We are a Family Medicine Residency Practice dedicated to providing you with preventative, chronic, and urgent care when you need it. We are a teaching facility, owned by the Washington Health System. The Washington and Canonsburg offices have resident physicians. As a certified Patient Centered Medical Home, we have same day appointments and evening hours available to meet your needs. Hours of Operation Monday – Wednesday – Friday 8a-5p Tuesday -- Thursday 8a-7p After Hours Coverage For urgent matters, a doctor is available for phone advice after hours and on weekends by calling 724225-7000. Ask for the doctor on call for Family Medicine Health Maintenance Visits We suggest a yearly exam and review of your age specific health maintenance requirements. Children under the age of two will require more frequent visits to assess growth and development. Vaccine Policy We firmly believe in the effectiveness and safety of vaccines to prevent serious illnesses. We firmly believe that children should receive the recommended vaccines according to the schedule published by the CDC and that doing so is the single most important health promoting intervention that we can provide to our patients. Refusing or delaying vaccination goes against expert medical advice and puts your child and others at unnecessary risk of serious illness. Therefore it is our policy to not accept new patients into our practice who refuse to vaccinate or want to deviate from the CDC schedule . Controlled Substance Policy We have strict policies related to the prescribing of narcotics and other controlled substances. We will not prescribe these medications to new patients under any circumstances. Referral to another specialist will be suggested if necessary. Dismissal Policy In rare instances it may be in the best interest of both the patient and the practice to terminate the doctor-patient relationship. Failure to keep appointments, non-compliance with the treatment plan or abusive behavior are possible reasons for dismissal. Medication Refills We ask that you call your Pharmacy when you need a medication refill. The pharmacist will notify us electronically or via fax. Most refill requests can be completed in 48 hours. Hospitalization Our Providers are on staff at the Washington Hospital. Lab and Radiology Testing We strongly encourage you to use the Washington Health System Lab and Radiology facilities so that your test results can automatically load into your medical record and be ready for review in a timely manner.
