July 3, 2008 Fluidotherapy Cross Contamination Our Fluidotherapy® line comes in two different models and have specially designed fluidized beds that combine the precise control of dry heat temperature and airflow with CELLEX® media. This combination works to generate the mechanical effects of skin desensitization and limb buoyancy. As indicated in the product instruction manual, cleaning of the Fluidotherapy device should observe the statements listed below. Observance of the product instruction manual and the highlighted product manual statements listed below will minimized the potential of cross contamination. CLEAN THE PATIENT TREATMENT AREA THOROUGHLY WITH AN ANTIMICROBIAL SOAP AND CLEAN WATER AS PER INDUSTRY/ FACILITY/ REGULATORY STANDARDS, AND UNIVERSAL SKIN WASHING PROCEDURES. FOLLOWING THE SKIN WASHING PROCEDURE, APPLY A HOSPITAL GRADE ANTISEPTIC SKIN CLEANSER, PER THE CLEANSER MANUFACTURER'S RECOMMENDED INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE. REFERENCE THE MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE AND MAKE CERTAIN THE REQUIRED MAINTENANCE HAS BEEN PERFORMED PRIOR TO STARTING THE UNIT.
