Viral DNA / RNA
Purification Kit
for diagnostic workflows
Diagnostic outcome depends on the performance and quality
of the entire diagnostic workflow starting from sample prepara-
Benefits
• E fficient purification of viral DNA
and RNA from a wide range of virus
concentrations
• C ompatible with fresh or
frozen serum and plasma

tion to detection. This is where the efficiency and performance
of the nucleic acid isolation protocol is crucial for accurate results in downstream diagnostic assays. Thermo Scientific
Viral DNA/RNA Purification Kit utilizes easy-to-use and reliable
viral nucleic acid purification technology that perfectly fits in vitro
diagnostic workflows.

Compatible with EDTA or citrate treated
serum and plasma samples
The kit is designed for in vitro diagnostic practices and
is compatible with samples treated with common preservatives used in diagnostics such as EDTA or citrate.
Isolated viral nucleic acids are contaminant-free and
compatible with sensitive downstream nucleic acid
based detection assays such as PCR or RT-PCR.
Minimized risk of cross-contamination
To avoid sample contamination and ensure safe
handling of potentially infectious material, fresh wash
tubes are supplied for each wash step thus eliminating the need to reuse tubes.
CE-marked for in vitro diagnostic use
The CE-mark guarantees compliance of the product
with European in vitro diagnostics Directive 98/79/EC.
The kit is produced in accordance with ISO13485
Quality Management System which ensures the
highest quality and safety standards for manufacturing
in vitro diagnostic medical devices.

Linear performance across a wide viral nucleic acid concentration range
Detection of viral RNA (A) and DNA (B) purified with the Viral DNA/RNA Purification Kit in a real-time PCR
assay. Samples of various HBV and HCV titers were produced by diluting infected plasma of known viral titer
with non-infected plasma.
A: Detection of RNA from various HCV sample titers.
B: Detection of DNA from various HBV sample titers.
