Keep these instructions. Heed all warnings. Follow all instructions. Do not use this apparatus near water. Clean only with dry cloth. Do not block any ventilation openings. Install in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. Do not install near any heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other apparatus (including amplifiers) that product heat. Do not defeat the safety purpose of the grounding-type plug. A grounding-type plug has two blades and a third grounding prong. The third prong is provided for your safety. If the provided plug does not fit into your outlet, consult an electrician for replacement of the obsolete outlet. Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched particularly at the plugs, convenience receptacles, and the point where they exit from the apparatus. Only use attachments/accessories specified by the manufacturer. Unplug this apparatus during lightning storms or when unused for long periods of time. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. Servicing is required when the apparatus has been damaged in any way, such as power-supply cord or plug is damaged, liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen into the apparatus, the apparatus has been exposed to rain or moisture, does not operate normally, or has been dropped. When the apparatus is turned off, certain components in the power supply and system board remain energized. In order to remove all electrical power from the apparatus, unplug the power cord from the MAINS socket outlet. To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not expose this apparatus to rain or moisture. This apparatus must be connected to a MAINS socket outlet with a protective earthing connection. 2009-10-02 Page 1 FRONT PANEL Keypad The four UARB-S1 arrow keys are used to display status information as well as for the entry of TCP/IP network addresses. If you hold down an arrow key for more than one second, it begins to scroll through all of the available options. Release the key when the desired option is displayed. The front panel keypad also turns the UARB-S1 on/off. Note that the UARB-S1 automatically turns on when the unit is plugged in. When held for four seconds, the red “X” button turns off the BEFORE unplugging or UARB-S1. If the UARB-S1 has been turned off, press the green check removing power from the push button for two seconds to turn the unit back on. UARB-S1, shut down the LEDs unit from its front panel. The UARB-S1 front panel has two status, light-emitting diodes (LEDs) for at-a-glance feedback. The bottom LED turns on when the UARB-S1 is displaying video content. If the recording option has been enabled for your UARB-S1 unit, the top LED lights up when the UARB-S1 is encoding. Display The UARB-S1 display shows status and password-protected TCP/IP address entry screens. Once the UARB-S1 has been booted up, press the up or down arrows on the keypad to display the following status screens: Serial Number & Firmware Version 09/14 12:00:00PM 0900CF V1.0.00 IP Address 09/14 12:00:00PM 10.9.0.1 UARB-S1 Identification 09/14 12:00:00PM ID:UARB-S1 Firmware Build Date Build Number Provides more detail on the UARBS1’s firmware version. 09/14 12:00:00PM Bld Num: 103 MPEG Player Status 09/14 12:00:00PM MPEG Player Stop MPEG Recorder Status 09/14 12:00:00PM Recorder Stopped 09/14 12:00:00PM FW Blt:09/14/09 Transfer Status Processor Temperature Indicates download progress of files being transferred from your UARB server. Using a straight-through RJ-45 Ethernet cable, connect the UARB-S1 Ethernet port to a 10/100 BASE-T hub or switch on your TCP/IP network. To check your network connection, look at the Ethernet LEDs above the Ethernet port and compare to the table at right. NOTE: The UARB-S1 requires the following network ports: • 23 Telnet • 21 FTP Control Connection • 20 FTP Data (if using third party FTP client in passive mode) • 80 to access UARB server Not Used—hard drive is internal Connect the included power cable to the power cord connector and then plug the other end into an AC power source. LEIGHTRONIX strongly recommends the use of an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) with the UARB-S1. Damage from power loss or spikes is not covered under warranty. 2009-10-02 If using a DVD player, connect the included IR cable between the IR port and a supported DVD player Connect a television monitor to the video/ audio outputs.
