ANGLES & AND THEIR MEASURES
SIZES OF ANGLES
An angle is acute if it has a measure between 0
and 90 degrees.
An angle is right if it has a measure of exactly 90
degrees.
An angle is obtuse if it has a measure between
90 and 180 degree.
A straight angle is an angle that measures exactly
180 degrees.
NAMING AN ANGLE
Angles are sometimes named using one letter
and other times named using three letters. It
depends on whether there are other angles

The most important letter in naming an angle
B
A
C
is the vertex, in this case A. When using one
letter we simply write the vertex. The angle
would be called <A. When using three letters
you write the letters in order as if you were
tracing the angle with your pencil, <BAC or
<CAB.
NAMING AN ANGLE
When two angles share the same vertex you must use
three letters to name the angle.
C
B
D
Which angle is <A?
A
What is the name of the angle on the left?
