Mission Statement Restoration Theological Seminary is a ecclesiastical degree granting school of adult education, endeavoring to teach the Word of God with the Bible as its authority and the Holy Spirit as its guide. The school is nondenominational and accepts those students who have the desire to know more about the Bible. The goal of the institute is to prepare men and women to go into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature. Restoration Theological Seminary 8955 Fayetteville Rd (Hwy. 54) Jonesboro, GA 30238 Email: [email protected] 770-961-3790 (school office) 770-961-3799 (ministry office) 3 Message from the President I greet you in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ: Restoration Theological Seminary (RTS) is committed to the purpose of providing programs of study in ministerial training and equipping the saints for the work of the ministry. Our courses are Bible centered, which we believe to be the true and living Word of God. The purpose is to create an environment in which the students will have a desire to study to show themselves approved unto God as workmen who are able to rightly divide the word of truth. All degrees of Restoration Theological Seminary are of an ecclesiastical nature, and whether granted or conferred, are in the restricted area of ministry, and are not designed to be used in general academic circles. The degree programs of this seminary are designed solely for religious vocations. RTS accepts credits from all schools compatible in mission and doctrine and in addition, will offer credit for service in the ministry, work related fields, church study courses, workshops, and seminars attended. I believe we have an educational program that is well able to position our students to communicate the Gospel to others and to carry the message of wellness in spirit, soul and body through Jesus Christ. Dr. Barbara J. Beeler, Ph.D. 4 DOCTRINAL STATEMENT OF FAITH HOLY SCRIPTURE We believe that the Holy Scripture is the Word of the Living God that it was written by holy men of old as they were moved upon and inspired by the Holy Spirit. THE ETERNAL GODHEAD We believe in the Eternal Godhead, one true and Living God who is the creator of all things in heaven and earth: for there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit: and these three are one. The Father whose glory is so exceedingly bright that mortal men cannot look upon His face and live; yet His divine love is so all encompassing that He gave His only begotten Son to redeem and reconcile fallen man unto Himself. The Son who is the only begotten of the Father co-existent, co-eternal with the Father, Who, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin named Mary, took upon Himself the form of man, and bore our sins. He was crucified, died, buried and rose from the grave and ascended to heaven The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of the Father and the Son; omnipresent, drawing sinners to the Savior, convicting of righteousness, comforting, guiding, teaching, baptizing and enduring with power. SALVATION We believe that man was created in the image of God and that by voluntary disobedience; he fell from purity and innocence to the depths of sin and iniquity. As a consequence all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life; no man comes unto the Father but by Him. We believe that Salvation is by grace through faith and not of works: that Christ died for us, fully paying the penalty with His own blood on the cross: pardoning everyone whoever believes in Him. We received the free gift of salvation, which is eternal life, and everyone that has this hope purifieth themselves as Christ is pure. We believe that upon confession of your faith with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and if you believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved. EQUALITY IN CHRIST We believe through faith in Christ Jesus we are all the children of God; male and female, no division of race, that all mankind is one in Christ Jesus, standing equal in accountability, responsibility and acceptability and worthy to carry out the call of God for the work of the ministry as Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors & Teachers. SPIRITUAL AUTHORITY Follow authority as that authority follows the authority of Christ. In all that you do, do for the glory of God for we ought to obey God rather than men. THE CHURCH We believe that God is head of Christ and that Christ is the head of the Church. Christ has set in place pastors to have oversight of the church with responsibility of watching over your soul for which, they must give an account. THE FAMILY The head of the woman (wife) is the man (husband) who is commanded to love his wife as Christ loves the Church. Every wife is to submit herself to her own husband as if she was submitting to the Lord. The children are commanded to obey their parents in the Lord. GOVERNMENT AND WORKPLACE Everyone must submit themselves to the governing authority for there is no authority except that which God has established. Submit to those who are in authority over you in the work place, so that you may glorify God in your behavior before mankind. SECOND COMING We believe in the Second Coming of Christ: Christ will descend from heaven in the clouds with the voice of the Archangel and with the trump of God. Those who have died in Christ shall rise. The redeemed that are still alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and shall they forever be with the Lord. JUDGMENT We believe that we shall stand before God in judgment for our deeds whether good or bad. Everyone whose name is written in the Lamb’s Book of Life shall receive their just reward. The overcomer has certain rights: the right to eat from the tree of Life which, is in the paradise of God, the right not to be hurt by the second death which, is the lake of fire; the right to receive hidden manna, a new name, a crown of life, authority over the nations and be clothed in a white garment. 5 General Information Accreditation In accordance with Code Section 20-3-250.3, an institution that has religious affiliation may apply for an exemption, on religious grounds, from the provisions of the Nonpublic Postsecondary Educational Act. No grades or transcript can be sent on behalf of that student to anyone until they have satisfied their financial obligations to RTS. 9 Earned Credits Information There are four (4) ways to earn credit at RTS: 1. Restoration Theological Seminary has partnered with Georgia Board of Examiners for Christian Counselors and Therapist as well as the National Christian Counseling Associate to equip you to minister to families and individuals through guidance that is biblically based and sound in the word of God. You will be properly trained and credentialed so that those of whom you are called to help with be assured that you are well able for the task at hand to help them through their situation. These programs are available in the Associate through doctorate degree levels. Georgia Board of Examiners for Christian Counselors and Therapist can be taken beginning in the Associate and Bachelor and board certification as Pastoral counselors while obtaining your Associate or Bachelor degree in Pastoral Care and Specialized Ministry. These classes are both online and on campus site. The National Christian Counselors Association will provide certification as Temperament Counselor and Pastoral Counselor for those who complete their courses. No high school diploma or GED is required for these two areas of study. This area of study will be conducted via Restoration Theological Seminary’s website as an online class of study. Upon satisfactorily completing the required course of study for the degree program, you will receive an Associate or Bachelor degree in Pastoral Care and Specialized Ministry and be board certified by NCCA in the areas of Pastoral Counseling or Christian Counselor. 30 Pastoral Care and Specialized Ministry The Board of Examiners for Georgia Christian Counselors and Therapists There is a current need in Christianity for Christian counselors to be properly trained and credentialed. This has become more evident as counselors begin to appear all over the world. This training and certification program, being offered through R.T.S. will meet this need. Local Certification (Georgia): Please note: All Board certifications are Christian and not designed for secular use. The Board of Examiners for Georgia Christian Counselors & Therapists will provide GBOE board certification after all course requirements are meet for those students who desire local board certification as a Christian counselor and therapist. The training received will provide deep insight into understanding human behavior and how to relate to others. This knowledge is valuable in every area of life, including the desire to help those who are hurting. This training is focused on the helping ministry to Bible-believing Christians who want their lives guided based upon the Scriptures. Having this certification may open doors to operate a counseling ministry under the authority of a church organization. This would make it possible to request fees and receive remuneration for the services rendered. Having credentials as having been trained in the area of Pastoral and Christian counseling will ensure recognition within the Christian community as a qualified. The Christian community can be assured that the credentials are authentic and current because of involvement in continuing education and accountability to the professional review boards organized on national and state levels. The Ministry of Counseling is a valid ministry, which is instituted by God. Through this course of study you will meet the requirements so you can legally counsel and accept remuneration because you will be recognized by your state as Clergy and it will open the door for you to accept God’s call upon your life. Your local church/pastor can commission you as a Commissioned Minister of Counseling or you can complete the necessary course requirements and be commissioned by RTS under their Apostolic Covering Ministry (Gateway Restoration International Network, Inc). Materials for this course of study are through the NCCA. It is an educational and training organization for Christian counselors providing certification and License for the Counseling Ministry. It is made up of Christian counselors, ministers, testing specialists, medical doctors, attorneys, and educators. The counseling technique used was developed by Drs. Richard and Phyllis Arno. It is an easy to learn stepby-step counseling technique that is over 90% successful. The Christian counselor administers a questionnaire, which takes the counselee less than ten minutes to complete. The questionnaire is used to obtain a computerized report called an Arno Profile System Report. The A.P.S. report provides the counselor with in-depth information about the counselee including their needs, natural traits, strengths and weaknesses. It also provides the counselor with specific information regarding the best way to counsel this person. Students completing this program of study will be licensed and certified by National Christian Counselors Association. Upon completion of the prescribed course of study RTS will provide the student with a Religious degree in Pastoral Care and Specialized Ministry. Phase 1 Individuals who successfully complete five courses of study and use the Arno Profile System to help ten counselees, under supervision, may qualify to receive two certificates: Clinical Membership Certified Temperament Counselor Phase 11 Those who successfully complete 4 additional courses of study & use the Arno Profile System to help 15 additional individuals, under supervision, may qualify to receive one of the following five certificates: Certified Pastoral Counselor Licensed Pastoral Counselor Licensed Clinical Pastoral Counselor Licensed Clinical Pastoral Counselor-Advanced Certification Licensed Clinical Christian Counselor Phase 111 Those who would like to receive their next level degree (MA, or Doc.) in Christian counseling may qualify to obtain a degree from RTS. This program has been established for those students who hold ministerial credentials and are interested in obtaining a license to practice Christian Counseling under the covering of their local church or established their own counseling ministry by obtaining a 501 (3C) Church/ministry covering of their own. Creation Therapy is a Biblically based model for Christian Counseling by Richard Gene Arno, Ph.D. and Phyllis Jean Arno, Ph.D. Creation therapy may be taken at the Bachelor level as well as the Master or Doctorate levels. After successfully completing Creation Therapy, the student will become a member of NCCA and will be qualified to administer the Temperament Analysis Profile (TAP). Please Note: All licensing and certification are Christian not secular. R.T.S., through N.C.C.A. offers training to Christian pastors, professionals, and laity in Temperament Theory and Therapy. Temperament Theory and Therapy is a Christian counseling method based on the Biblical view that man is directly created by God in His image, not through an evolutionary process. This therapeutic method was developed during seven years of research. The research involved five thousand (5000) individuals who were seeking help for their problems. The research concluded that the outcome of treatment is over ninety percent (90%) successful when Temperament Therapy is administered by a qualified Temperament Therapist. Learning this new therapeutic counseling method is a requirement for membership in the N.C.C.A., and membership is a prerequisite for all of N.C.C.A.’s certification and licensor programs. 36 Certificate Program for NCCA (no degree) NCCA Certified Temperament Counselor $200.00 per course ($1400.00) NO GED or High School Diploma required) (Online & Conference Calling) month July First year N/C 10 APS Reports NCCA Board Exam 3 page Personal Testimony 3 References Endorsement official of church/denomination NCCA Code of Ethics Phase 1 Basic Christian Counseling $200 Temperament Theory $200 Testing & Measurement Temperament Therapy Christian Psychology & Counseling Graduation $200 $200 $250 $150 $200 NCCA Board Certified Pastoral Counselor $200.00 per course $2575.00 (NO GED or High School Diploma required) (Online & Conference Calling) month July month 3 page Essay of Personal Testimony 3 References Endorsement official of church/denomination Phase 1 Basic Christian Counseling $200 Counseling the Co-dependent Temperament Theory Testing & Measurement $200 $200 Counseling the Co-dependent 15 APS Reports Temperament Therapy Christian Psychology & Counseling 10 APS Reports Phase 2 Mastering Pastoral Counseling Utilizing Temperament Temperament Case Studies NO SCHOOL $200 NCCA Board Exam $200 $200 $375 $150 $200 $250 $200 $200 July GRADUATION 37 Masters in Pastoral Care and Specialized Ministries NCCA Licensure & Board Certification as License Pastoral Counselor (61 credits)–monthly ($200) (Bachelor degree required) Month First year Month Second year NCCA Code of Ethics Phase 1 Counseling Co-dependent Basic Christian Counseling Counseling Co-dependent Temperament Theory 15 APS Reports Phase 3 Advanced Courses Cognitive Therapy Techniques Cognitive Therapy Techniques NCCA Board Exam 25 Case Studies –Thesis Life’s Answers thru Counseling with God Life’s Answers thru Counseling with God Temperament Theory Testing & Measurement Temperament Therapy Temperament Therapy Christian Psychology & Counseling Christian Psychology & Counseling 10 APS Reports Quality, Ethics, & Legal Issues in Christian Counseling Quality, Ethics, & Legal Issues in Christian Counseling Innovative Approaches in Counseling Innovative Approaches in Counseling Phase 2 Mastering Pastoral Counseling Mastering Pastoral Counseling Temperament Case Studies July NO SCHOOL July Graduation 38 Doctor of Pastoral Care and Specialized Ministries NCCA Licensure & Board Certification as Licensed Clinical Pastoral Counselor -Advanced Online & Conference Calling (97 credits) monthly ($215 per course) (Master degree required) Month First year Month Phase 1 Basic Christian Counseling Phase 3 Advance Courses Cognitive Therapy Technique Cognitive Therapy Techniques Board Exam Life’s Answers thru Counseling with God Life’s Answers thru Counseling with God Quality, Ethics, & Legal Issues in Christian Counseling Temperament Theory Temperament Theory Testing & Measurement Temperament Therapy Temperament Therapy Quality, Ethics, & Legal Issues in Christian Counseling Innovative Approaches in Counseling Innovative Approaches in Counseling Phase 4 Choose 8 Advanced Certification Courses Christian Psychology & Counseling Christian Psychology & Counseling July Second year 10 APS Reports Phase 2 Mastering Pastoral Counseling Mastering Pastoral Counseling Temperament Case Studies $250 15 APS Reports NO SCHOOL $375 10 APS Reports July $250 Code of Ethical Standards 35 Case Studies Dissertation Graduation 39 Faith-Based Courses for Advanced Certification Courses Integrated Marriage and Family Therapy 1.
