DUI Council of Lancaster County January 13, 2010 Minutes I. Approval of Minutes: Motion to approve January minutes Breckenmaker Motion seconded: Cullen. II. In attendance: Pyne, Barry, Weik, Breckenmaker, Coleman, Brown, Mulroney, Thomas, Rood, Cullen III. Financial Report: All bills paid to date with the exception of the website. None for CMCA last month. IV. Discussion: A. Willow Valley Conference/Wrap up: Attendance numbers: 211 +. Good response from participants. Will be re-evaluating disbursement of responsibility/funding sources regarding future conferences. Topics of interest: getting a good speaker, new location, doing away with vendors (just having informational tables placing info in packets). TOP GUN: State and Manor Twp are shift sharing so this might open opportunities for other PD’s to get an award. B. RAMP Training: Spring RAMP training needs to be scheduled. We would like to do two. 31 were certified at the E-town training. Dana will set up with Crystal in 2 other areas. C. Social Hosting Campaign: Limited to E-town for now, but can go elsewhere. Logo/Pamphlet Update. Sponsored by CTC, DUI Council and E-town PD. To provide ways to prevent access and laws regarding hosting. Still have several posters and pizza box labels. We will really push these in April. D. Etown Law Enforcement Training: Preliminary “Power” meeting with chiefs from Susquehanna, Northern Reg’l, E-town, the ADA, MDJ, Todd and Max before involving the police. 2/7 or 2/8, would like two trainings done in one day. Workshops to focus on laws regarding underage drinking. E. UAD Forum/Speakers:Crystal Hartz has confirmed Sarah Panzau for Hempfield and MT 4/12 and 4/13. PA DUI has expressed an interest in helping up resurrect the UAD forum. Courtney will contact SADD/SRO and Driver Ed reps from MT and Hempfield to set up a meeting to find out what we can do to complement their programs. F. Turkey Hill: Letter to be drafted to the TH marketing director, however, we had no data to back up the letter. G. Barnstormers Event: Dana presented their proposal (copies given to all present). Everyone was on board with the idea as well as the remembrance idea. Next meeting is 1/20 with Crystal Hartz and Barnstormers. H. RA symposium: January 15, 2011 @ ETC (Robert Chapman will be speaking) V. Next meeting: Wednesday, February 10 @ 8:30a. Location: AAA, Centerville, PA. VI. Adjournment: No motion to adjourn.
