1. DNA SEQUENCER (Applied Biosystems, 3730xl DNA Analyzer)
DNA Sequencer is a method of determining the order of nucleotide bases such as adenine, guanine,
cytosine and thymine in a DNA oligonucleotide. It is useful in basic research studying fundamental
biological processes in diagnostic or forensic research.
We have the 96-capillary 3730xl DNA Analyzer as the Gold Standard for high throughput genetic analysis.
Able to optimized polymers and increase your productivity without compromising your results and
perform a wide variety of sequencing and fragment analysis applications including resequencing,
microsatellite analysis, AFLP, LOH, SSCP, SNP screening and SNP validation. With the 3730xl DNA Analyzer,
you get the highest-quality data from a wide array of applications. Perform on POP-7™ Polymer with Data
Collection Software v3.0.
REQUIREMENT


Perform all the purified and cycle sequencing method or any method necessary.
Adequate DNA quantity.
Location : INFRA Advanced Laboratory at Level G, RMIC Building
2. RT-PCR (Applied Biosystems, QuantStudio™ 12K Flex)
Real-time PCR is an advanced form of the Polymerase Chain Reaction that maximizes the potential of the
technique. Combining flexible throughput capabilities with a streamlined workflow, the QuantStudio™
12K Flex system takes you from targeted discovery through confirmation and screening, all on a single
platform. Increase your throughput by as much as 32-fold by running 4 OpenArray® plates in a single run
on the QuantStudio™ 12K Flex system. It's the equivalent of 32 traditional 384-well qPCR plates or 12,000
data points.
REQUIREMENT


Sample must be DNA or RNA.
Specialized consumables to be used, appropriate for the sample blocks of the QuantStudio 12K
Flex system:
 Micro Amp 8-Tube Strips (0.1 ml)
 Micro Amp Optical 96 – Well fast reaction plate with bar code
 Micro Amp Optical 384 – Well reaction plate with bar code
 Array card
Location : INFRA Advanced Laboratory at Level G, RMIC Building
3. RHEOMETER (TA Instrument, DHR-2)
Rheometer is an instrument that measures both viscosity and viscoelasticity of semi-solid
sample. It is also provides Transient response (relaxation modulus, creep compliance, creep
recovery) information of the material.
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION



Geometry provided : 40mm flat, 40mm cone, 60mm cone
Temperature range between 0-200 0C
Peltier plate usage only
REQUIREMENT





No Acidic, strong alkaline and chlorinated sample.
Semi-solid sample only.
No cured samples.
Stable state of samples.
High amount of samples (depend on type of geometry).
Location : INFRA Advanced Laboratory at Level G, RMIC Building
4. TENSIOMETER (Attension, Sigma 700)
Tensiometer is a precise characterization of a number of material properties. Analysis of surface
and interfacial tension, powder wettability, dynamic contact angles, critical micelle
concentration, density and sedimentation.
REQUIREMENT



Parameter/characteristic must be provided.
Liquid and soluble sample.
Homogenous sample.
Location : INFRA Advanced Laboratory at Level G, RMIC Building
5. ELLIPSOMETER (J.A. Woollam M-2000V)
Ellipsometer is a non-destructive, light optical analysis technique. Ellipsometry measures the change in
polarization state of light reflected from a surface of a material.
Measuring tools for film thickness, optical constant & change in polarization. Ellipsometer is widely use
in thin film identification.
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION



White lamp source, Quartz Tungsten Halogen Lamp, 3000hrs
Wave length 370nm-5000nm
Complete EASE Software
REQUIREMENT


Sample must be in solid form and fit the sample holder.
Sample must be homogenous and has a flat surface.
Location : INFRA Advanced Laboratory at Level G, RMIC Building
6. PARTICLE IMAGE VELOCIMETRY (PIV) (Dantec Dynamics Nano L135-15PIV)
Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) is a whole-flow-field technique providing instantaneous velocity vector
measurements in a cross-section of a flow. Two velocity components are measured, but use of a
stereoscopic approach permits all three velocity components to be recorded, resulting in instantaneous
3D velocity vectors for the whole area.
PIV is widely used in many application such as fluid & solid mechanics, Hydraulics & hydrodynamics,
material research and etc.
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION



Dynamic Studio v3.31 software
2 camera (2D Experiment & 3d Experiment)
Laser system (Dual power 135-15)
REQUIREMENT


Experiment set-up must be appropriate with the room size and doesn’t affect the environment
cleanliness.
User should have knowledge on the operation & data analysis. Training by Application Engineer
from Alam Meridian (M) Sdn. Bhd. available at customer own cost & arrangement.
Location : INFRA Analysis Laboratory at Level 3, RMIC Building
