Senior Mechanical Engineer The Job Reporting to the Engineering/Project Manager, the successful applicant will engage with the engineering teams to develop engineering solutions for a wide variety of mechanical design. You will play a crucial role both in the functionality and presentation of finished products to deliver unique world-class products. You will be required to work within the company's design processes and practices, maintaining and contributing to the in-house standards. The Person It s expected that applicants will have a good Degree, Masters or equivalent in an engineering-related subject, such as Maths, Physics or Engineering. You will be required to be part of a team responsible for the concept through completion of design development, manufacture and testing of a wide variety of complete systems. Your role may involve customer drawings; mechanical specifications and analysis of design solutions to meet requirements. Component manufacturing drawings of machined and fabricated parts, bills of materials and basic design calculations. You will be required to apply technical knowledge and experience to the groups’ work/projects so as to be part of the technical and revenue generating resource. Essential requirements: Ability to plan and manage the use of staff resources for design, development and production to ensure maximum and efficient utilisation. Maintain close supervision/monitoring of group staff. Experience of supervising and guiding group staff to deliver the required contribution to designs, tests, products and systems. Enthusiastic, positive attitude. Evaluation of designs by calculation, FEA and practical testing. A passion for innovation and new product development Experience of the oil and gas, or geothermal industries (down hole or subsea preferable) Experience of 3D modelling (Solidworks or similar) Experience of hydraulic or pneumatic components and systems Experience of working with Electro-Mechanical systems Experience of revision control and issue management systems Experience of new product development Free thinker. Undertake limited travel. A competitive remuneration package is offered which will be dependent upon experience and qualifications. A relocation package is also available.
