GEISINGER HEALTHSOUTH TO HOST PANEL PRESENTATION
ON TRAVELING WITH DISABILITIES
DANVILLE, Pa. – Geisinger HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital will join rehabilitation providers across the nation
Sept. 21-27 in celebration of National Rehabilitation Week by hosting a travel panel on Thursday, Sept. 25 at 5:00 p.m.
This panel will provide helpful information for individuals who have disabilities and want to continue traveling, but may
need help and encouragement to do so.
The panel will include representatives from a local travel agency, the U.S. Transportation Security Administration (TSA)
and a durable medical equipment provider, as well as a (former) stroke patient with travel experience and a physical
therapist. Each panel member will provide a brief overview of their expertise and provide time for questions from
attendees.

Geisinger HealthSouth. “We constantly stress the fact that having a disability doesn’t stop you from doing the things you
love, and we are excited to provide this educational opportunity to help many individuals take that first step to start
traveling again.”
National Rehabilitation Week was established in 1976 to create awareness of people with disabilities and promote the
benefits of rehabilitation. In 1990, a presidential proclamation designated the third week of September as National
Rehabilitation Week, which has grown to include more than 7,000 organizations.
