Fitzpatrick Chairman SUBJECT: CUSTODIAN - JOB DESCRIPTION POSITION SUMMARY: Performs routine and delegated custodial, maintenance, and security duties in accordance with the philosophies, objectives, policies, and procedures of Bonner General Health and the Environmental Services department. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Performs floor care such as stripping, waxing, buffing and carpet care Tours hospital building and grounds to prevent fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry Reports any incidents or unusual situations immediately to department manager and Hospital Supervisor Cleans and services building and ground areas to maintain an orderly and sanitary environment Empties trash throughout all buildings Moves furniture, equipment, and supplies in and between hospital departments as needed Turns and changes mattresses, sets up traction and bed frames, hangs draperies Responsible for minor repairs and equipment checks Assists with snow removal as needed Responds to all pertinent emergency alarms Performs backup housekeeping duties as needed Sets up decontamination showers and assists with emergency situations as directed Assists with security situations as needed Maintains strict confidentiality regarding knowledge of all patient information (HIPAA), confidential staff and hospital business Must be flexible and willing to work different shifts, rotations and call in, under pressure timelines and with limited supervision Must portray a positive, courteous and professional image to patients, families, visitors, co-workers and physicians Demonstrates the ability to communicate and receive constructive feedback in a positive manner Logs work completed and records maintenance needs to department manager Responsible for establishing and maintaining healthy interpersonal relationships with all staff members Age(s) of patient served and age-specific technology Not applicable OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES: BGH maintains the right to establish work schedules and to be ensured of employee’s attendance when scheduled.
