Propulsion Research and Development in the TTCP
Beginning in The Second World War, defence organizations realized that collaboration in the
complex and costly development of military technologies was necessary and prudent. Under
international treaty, The Technical Cooperation Program(me) (TTCP) linked the United States
and the United Kingdom, to be joined by Canada, Australia and New Zealand. A system of
technology groups has been established covering diverse domains. Within each group, several
technical panels meet to understand existing activities, identify collaborative opportunities and
manage technical projects- all to benefit the military end user.
The speakers are members of the TTCP Aerospace Group’s Technical Panel 3 on Propulsion
and Power Systems. They will present open source information on their national propulsion
activities and comment on the issues and opportunities for collaboration. It is anticipated that
the audience will join in a discussion of ways and means to move forward.
