GRE Information The GRE (Graduate Record Examination) general test and subject test are taken by individuals applying to graduate programs in natural sciences, engineering, social sciences, business, humanities and arts, education, and other fields. Cost and Fees GRE Sections and Times Analyze an Issue and Analyze an Argument Analytical Writing 2 essays Quantitative Comparison, Problem Solving, and Data Interpretation 20 questions each Verbal Reasoning Sections (2) Text Completion, Sentence Equivalence, and Reading Comprehension 20 questions each Experimental Quantitative or Verbal Questions Varies Quantitative Reasoning Sections (2) Total Time 30 min. each 35 min. each General Test: $205 Subject Test: $150 Late Registration Fee: $25 Rescheduling Fee: $50 Changing your Test Center: $50 Fee assistance available to eligible students 30 min. each Varies About 4 hours, including breaks GRE Subject Tests Each Subject Test yields a total score on a 200-990 score scale, in 10-point increments.
