Iron FAQ Problem Water drips from the soleplate at the start of the ironing session. What's wrong? Water droplets drip onto the fabric during ironing. What's wrong? Water drips from the soleplate after the iron has been unplugged or has been stored. What's wrong? Cause 1. The soleplate has residue water from previous ironing session 2. The steam slider is set at MAX during storage 3. You have stored the iron in horizontal position with water still left in the water tank. 1. The water tank lid may not be fully closed 2. You are ironing while the SmartLight is blinking. 3. There may be chemicals or perfume in the water tank 4. The steam boost has been triggered too frequently 5. You have over-filled the water tank. 6. The Safety Auto Off is active and the appliance cannot be reactivated by moving it 1. The steam slider is set to MAX 2. The iron has been placed in a horizontal position with water still left in the tank. Solution 1. Once the appliance is switched on only start ironing when the SmartLight has fully illuminated. 2. Set the steam slider to ‘no steam’ before storage. 3. Empty the water tank before storage. 1. Press the lid until you hear a click 2. Start ironing only when the SmartLight lights up steadily 3. Rinse the water tank and do not put any perfume or chemical into the water tank. 4. Press the steam boost trigger at intervals of 5 seconds 5. Empty some water so that water level is below "Max" mark of water tank. 6. Product is faulty. Contact your Philips Consumer Care Center for assistance. 1. Set the steam slider to ‘no steam’ 2. Empty the water tank
