Types of Asexual Reproduction
1. Binary Fission- new organisms from cytoplasm splitting equally.
Ex. bacteria, paramecium
2. Budding- Splitting of the cytoplasm unequally.
Ex. yeast
Ex. hydra
3. Sporulation- from spore cells.
Ex. yeast, ferns, puffballs, mushrooms
4. Regeneration- new organism from piece or part of parent animals.
Ex. starfish, crayfish, sponge, tape worm, invertebrates
5. Vegetative Propagation- new organisms from pieces or part of parent plants.
Ex. spider plants, strawberries, grass
6. Parthenogenesis- unfertilized egg.
Ex. like Jurassic Park
Ex. wasp, aphid, Daphnia (water flea)
7. Mitosis- reproduction of body cells. (pmat) prophases, metaphase, anaphase,
telophase. New cells = Same Chromosome # (46-humans).
Ex. brain, blood, skin
