It is our pleasure to inform you that the 4th edition of VASTRA i.e. “VASTRA 2015 - An International
Textile and Apparel Fair” is scheduled from September 28-30, 2015 at Jaipur Exhibition and
Convention Centre, Sitapura Industrial Area, Jaipur, Rajasthan, India. The event will be organized
jointly by Rajasthan State Industrial Development and Investment Corporation Ltd. (RIICO) and
Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI). VASTRA is supported and
endorsed by the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India, Ministry of Textiles,
Government of India & Government of Rajasthan.
India’s textiles and clothing industry is one of the mainstays of the national economy. It is also
one of the largest contributing sectors of India’s exports worldwide. The report of the Working
Group constituted by the Planning Commission on boosting India’s manufacturing exports during
the 12th Five Year Plan (2012-17), envisages India’s exports of Textiles and Clothing at USD
64.41 billion by the end of March, 2017. The textiles industry accounts for 14% of industrial
production, which is 4% of GDP; employs 45 million people and accounts for nearly 11% share of
the country’s total exports basket.
VASTRA, a comprehensive trade fair on Textiles and Apparel, aims at showcasing the best and
latest in textiles from fibre to fashion, be it technology or products. It mainly focuses on products
like Fibre, Yarn, Fabric, Garment, Apparels, Home Textile & Furnishings, Made-ups, Accessories,
Fashion Trends, Traditional textiles, Technology & Machineries. It is an ideal business platform for
Exporters of Garments, Made-ups, Accessories, Technology suppliers, Fashion Designers, Textile
tools & accessories, states through specific pavilions, Sectoral industry associations, Research &
Development and Education & Training Institutions.

VASTRA 2014 held in October 2014 saw presence of 225 exhibitors, 345 foreign buyers from 56
counties & 52 Indian buying houses and 3354 structured B2B meetings were held generating
business worth of US$ 85 million.
VASTRA – 2015 will focus more on the best and the latest in textiles & apparel and present
enhanced business opportunities for all stakeholders. It will also provide platform for launching of
new product, exploring avenues for new business relations, JVs, strategic alliances and
partnerships worldwide as also new locations for setting up businesses in India.
In the liberalized post-quota period, India has emerged as a major sourcing destination for buyers
from all over the globe. Commercially the buoyant importers / retailers/ distributors across the
world are looking for options of increasing their sourcing from the Indian markets. Indian
manufacturers are also pro-actively working towards enhancing their capacities to fulfil this
increased demand.
In view of the above backdrop and the opportunities it presents, we request for your valuable
support in providing us the details of the textile importers (Fabrics, Garments, Apparel, Home
textiles and Yarn) from your country. We will invite/ host buyers whose annual turnover is over
