Right-Handed Boggle Contributed to UEN by Toni Simmons, Highland High School Goals: Reinforce correct finger assignments for right-hand keys as a component of proper keyboarding technique. Construct words that other students do not discover. (Having the most words is not as helpful as having unique words.) Procedure: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Each student places left hand in lap. Students use only the right hand for letters, space bar, backspace, and arrow keys to create as many words as possible to fill in the table below. a. Available “right-hand” letters: y u i o p h j k l n m b. The letters may be used more than once. c. No “left-hand” letters are allowed in words. d. Words may not be proper names, hyphenations, or abbreviations. e. If a spelling warning appears, it means that the Word® database does not recognize that word and it may not be used. To add more rows to the table, strike tab when the insertion point is located in the last cell. Sort the list. (Select list of words, then choose Table / Sort) When the time limit expires, teacher will randomly ask each student to reveal one word from their list. a. If no other student listed that word, student receives an award ticket. b. If another student did find that word, it does not count and should be crossed out on all lists. It does not generate an award ticket to anyone. yuiophjklnm
