Intended Audience:
This workshop is designed for MPhil/PhD students, FCPS trainees, clinicians
and scientists working in the field of genomics to help them understand the
significance of next generation sequencing (NGS) in research and clinic. The
participants could be researchers from a variety of disciplines including but not
limited to cancer, pathology, haematology, medicine and allied, surgery and
allied, microbiology, pharmacology, biochemistry, cell and molecular biology
and others.

Basics of Next Generation Sequencing?
How the machine works and generates sequencing data?
How is the data imported to software?
Which is user friendly software?
How is the data analysed in a meaningful manner to identify genetic
aberrations?
 How is the data interpreted to inform research, basic science and clinical
practice?
