Instructions:
The following slides should be reviewed and the results (what you see) should be recorded. The student should include
BOTH the gram reaction and the morphology. Once all “known” slides have been reviewed, the student should take one
(1) Unknown slide and report results. The instructor only needs to verify the findings on the “unknown” slide. However,
the instructor can review the other slides with the student as needed. For shorthand purposes, the student can use the
abbreviations below.
GPCCh-Gram positive cocci in chains
GNR- Gram negative rods
GPCCl- Gram positive cocci in clusters
GPR- Gram positive rods
Grading: (0.5 pts.) each for correct morphology, (0.5 pts.) for each gram stain reaction.
(0.5 pts.) will be deducted for any element(s) mis-identified.
