Rat proteins were separated by 2-DE and identified by MALDI-MS, following in-gel digestion with trypsin. The spots representing the identified
proteins are indicated in Fig 1 and are designated with their accession numbers of SWISS-PROT or the other database (www.ncbi.nlm.gov). The
theoretical/observed molecular weight (MW) and pI values, as well as the number of matching peptides (matches) and the probability of
assignment (pMism) are given. Some hypothetical proteins were detected in mouse hippocampusa) (Unpublished data, Shin et al., 2003), human
mesothelial cell lineb), human lymphocytec) or human bronchial cell lined) (Unpublished data).

Accession number of Conserved Domain Database (CDD, www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov). The sequences of hypothetical proteins were submitted to
BLAST and putative conserved domains were obtained by sequence similarity. NH, there were no comparable homologs with known function.
