Data Mining Group Project
For this group project, you will select any publically-available (and legal!) dataset
(e.g., kdnuggets.com/datasets) and “mine” the data using any of the data mining techniques
discussed in this course.
For your project, you must follow one (and only one) of the following data mining approaches:
1. The “STEPS IN DATA MINING” on pages 15 - 16 in your Shmueli, et al. textbook, OR . . .
2. The CRISP-DM (Cross-Industry Standard Process for Data Mining)
On the last night of class (Week 8), your group will present your business problem, your approach,
and your findings to the class. All members of the groups must participate in the presentation.
