have crowned him with glory and honor. 6
You have made him to have dominion over
the works of Your hands; You have put all

How were the Angels involved in Creation?

In the beginning, God created the world in six steps
on six days.

Each step began with a command from God. This
command was given to the angels.

The Angels had power from God to make the earth
and all the creatures on it.

The Angels did not act on their own authority or
Power. They performed the will of the Father of all.
God gave the commands, the Angels carried out the
details.
The Angels were present at Creation
Job 38:4-7
[NKJV] Where were you when I laid the foundations
of the earth? …When the morning stars sang
together, And all the sons of God shouted for joy?
[NIV] .. While the morning stars sang together and
all the angels shouted for joy?
The Angels were involved at creation
– obeying God’s command
God Created by His Word – He Commanded and it
was done
Genesis 1:3 [NIV] And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light.
6-7 And God said, "Let there be an expanse between the waters to
separate water from water….. And it was so
9 Then God said, "Let the waters below the heavens be gathered into
one place, and let the dry land appear"; and it was so.
Psalm 33:6 By the word of the LORD were the heavens made, their
starry host by the breath of his mouth.
The Angels Obey God’s word
Psalm 103:20 [NASB] Bless the LORD, you His angels, Mighty in
strength, who perform His word, Obeying the voice of His word!
Psalm 104:4 [NKJV] God makes His angels spirits, His ministers a flame
of fire. Psalm 104 is all about the creation of God
The Angels were involved at creation –
as God is the LORD of Hosts
Amos 4:13: [NASB] For behold, He who forms mountains and
creates the wind And declares to man what are His thoughts, He
who makes dawn into darkness And treads on the high places of
the earth, The LORD God of hosts is His name.
Jeremiah 31:35: [NASB] Thus says the LORD, Who gives the sun
for light by day, And the fixed order of the moon and the stars for
light by night, Who stirs up the sea so that its waves roar;
The LORD of hosts is His name”
God’s hosts = the angels
Psalm 148:2 [NIV] Praise him, all his angels, praise him, all his
heavenly hosts.
Luke 2:13-15 [NIV] Suddenly a great company of the heavenly
host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, “Glory to
God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor
rests." When the angels had left them and gone into heaven…”
Creation of Mankind
Gen 2:7 [NIV] The LORD God formed the man
from the dust of the ground and breathed into
his nostrils the breath of life, and the man
became a living being.'
Gen. 2:7 [KJV] …and man became a living soul
Dust + breath of life = a living soul
Dust - breath of life = a dead soul
Soul = “Nephesh” (Hebrew): means a
breathing creature.
See Genesis 1:20, 21, 24, 28 = “living creature”
When we die
we simply return to the dust

Genesis 3:19 By the sweat of your brow you will eat your food
until you return to the ground, since from it you were taken; for
dust you are and to dust you will return.

Job 34:14-15 If it were God’s intention and he withdrew his
spirit and breath, all mankind would perish together and man
would return to the dust.

Psalm 104: 29-30 When you hide your face, they are terrified;
when you take away their breath, they die and return to the dust.
When you send your Spirit, they are created, and you renew the
face of the earth.
a living soul - God's breath of life = body of dust
Our soul dies when we die

The SOUL that sinneth, it shall die (Ezek. 18:4 KJV)

And the LORD delivered Lachish into the hand of Israel,
which took it on the second day, and smote it with the
edge of the sword, and all the SOULS that were therein,
(Joshua 10: 32 KJV)

God spared not their SOUL from death, but gave
their life over to the pestilence [Israel in Egypt]
(Psalm 78:50 KJV)

Deliver my SOUL from the sword (Psalm 22:20 KJV)

He (Jesus Christ) hath poured out his SOUL unto
death (Isaiah 53:12 KJV)
When we die we know nothing

For the living know that they will die: but THE DEAD KNOW
NOTHING ... their love, their hate and their jealousy have
long since vanished, ..... for in the grave, where you are going,
there is neither working nor planning nor knowledge nor
wisdom. (Ecclesiastes 9:5,6,10).

His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; IN THAT
VERY DAY HIS THOUGHTS PERISH (Psalm 146:4 KJV)

The DEAD do not praise the LORD, nor any who go down
into SILENCE (Psalm 115:17 NKJV)

"Why did I not perish at birth, and die as I came from the
womb?.... I would be asleep and at rest... There the
wicked cease from turmoil...... they no longer hear the
slave driver's shout.” (Job 3:11, 13,17,18)
The hope of the Bible
The Resurrection

John 11: 25 Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the
life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies”

1 Thessalonians 4:16 For the Lord himself will come down
from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the
archangel and with the trumpet call of God, AND THE DEAD IN
CHRIST WILL RISE FIRST.

Philippians 3:21: Jesus Christ … will transform our LOWLY
BODIES so that they will be like his GLORIOUS BODY.

1 Corinthians 15:21-22; For since death came through a
man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man.
For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive.
The Creation of Woman
& the First Marriage

Adam needed help with his Job of looking after the earth

None of the Animals were suitable – they did not have an
understanding of God and his purpose

So God made the woman out of Adam’s rib

Adam and Eve were brought together to do God’s work

Purpose of Marriage – to help our husband or wife to believe in God
and do what He wants us to do
So the LORD God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while
he was sleeping, he took one of the man's ribs and closed up the place
with flesh. Then the LORD God made a woman from the rib he had
taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man. The man said,
"This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be
called 'woman', for she was taken out of man. Gen 2:20-23
God’s Plan for Adam & Eve
'God saw all that he had made, and it was very good.‘ Gen 1:31
The LORD God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden
to work it and take care of it. Gen 2:15

God made Adam and Eve for the special purpose of
looking after all God had made

They were to keep things in a “very good” state

God’s ultimate plan is that the whole earth will be
filled with people who worship him and keep his laws.
For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the
LORD, as the waters cover the sea. Habakkuk 2:14
The First Law
And the LORD God commanded the man, "You are free to eat
from any tree in the garden; But you must not eat from the tree
of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat of it you will
surely die. Gen 2:16-17

God did not create Adam and Eve as robots. They had
freewill.

To test their obedience, God gave Adam and Eve one law
to keep

Just like us today, Adam and Eve had the choice to obey
or disobey God

When we obey God we honor him, and He is pleased with
us, and He then can reward us with life
The Consequence of Sin




Sadly, Adam & Eve chose to disobey God
In consequence, the curse of death came upon them,
and they died.
We are all the descendants of Adam and Eve. Like them
we have all disobeyed God, or sinned. Like them we will
all die for our sins.
The only escape from death is through the Lord Jesus
Christ
By the sweat of your brow you will eat your food until you return to the ground,
since from it you were taken; for dust you are and to dust you will return. Gen
3:19
Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin,
and in this way death came to all men, because all sinned Rom. 5:12
So that, just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through
righteousness to bring eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Rom. 5:21
