The Chinese government pays close attention to encouraging
people to start businesses and make innovations, which is
flourishing in China. The force of technology innovation and
institutional innovation is unleashed and emerging as a new
driver of the economic transition of China. Chengdu, as the 6th
national central city following Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai,
Guangzhou and Chongqing, is an important economic center, an
inland highland for open-up, an engine for the drive to develop
west China, and a national demonstration city for innovation and
IPR protection. It is selected as “Top 1 Chinese Cities with
Biggest Potential”, “The Most Attractive Chinese City for
Investment” by Global Daily, one of the “Top 10 Chinese Cities
for Startup” by Fortune magazine. Currently, Chengdu is
developing into a regional center for innovation and
entrepreneurship with global influence. The brands of “a city to
start businesses and fulfill dreams” and “Chengdu, Can do” are
increasingly better known.
On May 10 to 12, Global Innovation and Entrepreneurship Fair
2017 will be held in Chengdu. It is sponsored by Chengdu
Municipal People’s Government, and supported by National
Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of Education,
Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Industry and
Information Technology, Ministry of Human Resources and
Social Security, State Intellectual Property Bureau of China, the
Central Committee of the Communist Youth League, China
Association for Science and Technology, Chinese Academy of
Sciences, Chinese Academy of Engineering and Sichuan
Provincial People’s Government. It will gather together leaders
of ministries of the central government and companies from
home and abroad and representatives of world-renowned
entrepreneurial cities, world-famous higher education, research
and investment institutions, and top incubators. They will
discuss the global trend of innovation and entrepreneurship,
showcase China’s achievements in this respect, facilitate the
integration of resources from across the globe, and promote the
flow of the elements of innovation and entrepreneurship and the
transaction of achievements.
