Breakthrough for the iipax product generates major
opportunities in the Norwegian market
Addnode has now taken a major step in the Norwegian market for archive and document
management in the public sector. The iipaxTM product has been Noark-approved by Arkivverket
(the Norwegian equivalent to the National Archives). This is a prerequisite to succeed in the
archive and document management market for Norwegian authorities.
The iipax product family contains functions for secure information transfer, qualified e-services, archive
and document management and electronic long-term archiving. The product is used by a large number
of authorities and also among private companies.
“We have been focused and regard this as a major breakthrough,” states Stefan Jonegård, President of
Ida Infront. “The approval is usually a requirement from Norwegian authorities when purchasing new IT
support. We have adapted the iipax for the Norwegian market in terms of language and specific
requirements. This means that the iipax now complies with the recommendations and stipulations that
exist in Norway.”
Ida Infront already has customers in Norway, including the Forensic Institute in Oslo, which uses
solutions from Ida Infront to manage DNA samples. In Norway, legislation was amended in 2008, which
signifies a significant increase in the number of samples for testing. Accordingly, the requirement for
automatic management and secure communication has also increased. The system is based on the iipax
permission product, an adaptable document management system that has been used for several years
in Statens Kriminaltekniska Laboratorium (SKL) in Sweden.
“Noark approval is a key milestone in our investment in the Norwegian market. We are now ready to
assist new customers to enhance the efficiency of their document and archive management as we have
done in Sweden,” says Staffan Hanstorp, Addnode’s President and CEO. “It is with pride that we can
once again state that the iipax is very competitive in several markets.”
