Research into Water
• A market leader in emission control and purification technologies
– now investigating extending capabilities into water
• JM have a number of products related to water and significant
R&D capabilities in catalysis, scavengers and electrochemistry
• Understanding the unmet needs and issues industry face, will
help develop effective solutions
• JM capabilities likely to be effective in the high technology sector
of water treatment
Technological Solutions
Catalytic Processes
•Operate at lower energy
•Consume less reagents
•Have faster reaction kinetics
•Generate no secondary wastes
•Are sustainable – catalysts can be recycled
Catalytic Advanced Oxidation
•Destroys recalcitrant organics
(phenols/dyes)
•Consumes less oxidant
•Has a small footprint
•Can meet zero discharge requirements
Other Areas of Development
•Selective scavengers and absorbents for
removal of metals to ultralow levels
•Enhancement of Insitu disinfection (biocide
generation, Ozone, UV)
•Enhancement of Energy generation from
waste
Applications today
•Replace bioremediation? No!
•Enhance established technologies? Yes!
•Offer a cost effective, sustainable solution to
streams which are not suitable to bio
remediation? Yes !
