characteristics of life by completing a chart with 80%
or higher accuracy.
Instructional Strategies:
Methods/Activities –
 Students will be given a Space science test
review sheet. (Test will be Thursday)
 Card sort activity (Students will sort many
items as either Alive, Not Alive, or Was Once
Alive)
 Students will then use their sort to come up
with a list of the “characteristics of life”
 After discussion, students will complete
characteristics of life chart using notes and
their book.
 Students will complete a homework sheet
checking their understanding.

 As a class we will go over the 7 Characteristics of
Life in detail.
 We will go over the homework sheet.
 As a class we will read pages 34-40 aloud.
 Students will be given a note sheet and will be
required to highlight the key points.
 Students will then be given a summary sheet to
complete.
 As students get finished they will come up and
“Check and Correct”
 Students will then look up the 3 main points to
the cell theory.
