Senior Investment Officer – Director of Risk Management General Description The $60 billion Massachusetts Pension Reserves Investment Management Board (PRIM) is seeking a Senior Investment Officer. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Senior Investment Officer is responsible for all matters related to the measuring and monitoring of portfolio risk. Duties include, but are not limited to: ensuring the integrity of risk reporting; providing an independent analysis of risk for PRIM investment staff, Investment Committee, and Board. Responsible for developing risk policies and guidelines. Responsibilities and Duties Present risk reports to investment staff and PRIM’s Investment Committee and Board Contribute to strategic decision making Serve as point person for all issues related to risk management Participate in meetings with external investment managers, economists and portfolio managers, as appropriate Contribute to investment research initiatives and manager selection across all investment teams Qualifications Experience working on institutional investment portfolios and working as part of a team Bachelor’s degree required and advanced degrees preferred in mathematics, finance, statistics, economics, business and/or computer programming CFA, CAIA, FRM and/or a relevant graduate degree strongly preferred Experience working with alternative asset classes and multi-asset class portfolios strongly preferred Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills Proficiency in a statistical risk measurement system is essential. Experience with MSCI’s BarraOne system is preferred. Proficiency working with statistical packages is essential.
