Stefania Amisano, pianist
Stefania Amisano, pianist, was born in Novara (Italy). A graduate of the Conservatorio Statale di Musica in
Alessandria, where she studied piano, organ and chamber music and of the Department of Musicology at the
Univeristà Statale di Pavia, she continued her musical training with Dario De Rosa, Maureen Jones and the
Trio di Trieste, and at various international institutions such as the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole (I), the
Internationale Sommerakademie Universität Mozarteum Salzburg (A), the Internationale Ferienkurse für
Neue Musik in Darmstadt (Chen, Wiget, Hodges) and the Stockhausen-Kurse für Musik in Kürten (D). She
has also taken part to several seminars with György and Marta Kurtág. For many years she has intensively
worked as a pianist in Italy and abroad both in the classical and contemporary chamber repertoire, recording
radio relays and CDs. In partnership with other artists, she has devised and realized several multidisciplinary projects that combine music, theatre and the visual arts.
In 1991 she founded with the pianist Claudio Cristani the Duo Novalis with whom she interprets a very large
repertoire from romantic to contemporay music. In 2010 she has also founded, with Duo Novalis and the
composers Giorgio Klauer and Stefano Trevisi, the ensemble cantierezero with the skill to commissioning
and perform new chamber music works interdisciplinary framed between music and fine arts, technology,
humanities and science,with the involvement of other musicians and visual artists.
