Exercise 1.1
The data in the following slides is divided into two halves. The left half features a list of faculty members
accompanied by the courses each has taught. The right half features a list of all courses for which
documentation should be prepared. Use this data to assign course document preparations to faculty
members while adhering to the following:
• Faculty members may be assigned to any course that they have taught; Professors A, C, and E may
each work with documentation for only one course that they have not taught.
• Faculty members can prepare documentation for only the number of courses indicated below:
• Professor A: 4 courses
• Professor B: 6 courses
• Professor C: 3 courses
• Professor D: 4 courses
• Professor E: 4 courses
• Exactly two faculty members must work on each course, and one of these two must have taught the
course.
• Due to scheduling conflicts, Professor A and Professor E cannot work together on any courses.

5390. Assign course document preparations to faculty members while adhering to the following:
• All professors except F and G may be assigned to courses that they have taught or are currently
teaching.
• Professors F and G may be assigned to any course. When assigned to a course that they are not
teaching, they must both be assigned to the same course. When assigned to a course that they are
teaching, at least one other professor with experience teaching that course must be included.
• Faculty course documentation assignments must be limited as indicated below:
• Professors A, F, and G: 4 courses
• Professor C: 2 courses
