CharterOak Acoustic Devices Flagship Model SA538 Turns 100
Alto Music of Middletown NY Sells the 100th Built CharterOak SA538
ENFIELD, CT – (Jan 9, 2006) - CharterOak Acoustic Devices today announced that they have surpassed the
milestone of the 100th SA538 Condenser Microphone sold through New York Pro Audio Dealer, Alto Music. To mark
this significant milestone, the 100 th built SA538 microphone (ser. #100) was given a gold logo by revealing the brass
material used to house CharterOak mic rather than the standard nickel finish believing that this one of a kind
special edition will become a collector’s item. This announcement comes after a year of aggressive growth,
including the addition of 10 dealers around in the US and Europe and the release of 2 new models.
Alto Music was the first dealer to take a chance selling CharterOak products
so it’s only natural Alto would sell #100. At the time, CharterOak was virtually
unknown in the industry but had a handful of enthusiastic beta testers. It was
through one of those beta testers’ praises, who’s also a long-term customer of
Alto Music that convinced Alto to take a chance and put the shiny black
SA538 on display in their store. “Charter Oak microphones have come out of
nowhere to be one of better selling condensers. Great sound, great people

the CharterOak product line and each model will be commemorated when
they reach milestone 100. There are no plans at this time to increase the amount of mics built per day in order to
maintain the built quality and unique sound that is now expected from CharterOak.
