ABOUT THE SHOW
The original Broadway production of The Drowsy Chaperone was
produced by Kevin McCollum, Roy Miller, Bob Boyett, Stephanie
McLelland, Barbara Freitag and Jill Furman.
The winner of five Tony Awards, including Best Book and Best Original
Score, The Drowsy Chaperone is a loving send-up of the Jazz Age
musical, featuring one show-stopping song and dance number after
another.
With the houselights down, a man in a chair appears on stage and puts
on his favorite record: the cast recording of a fictitious 1928 musical.
The recording comes to life and The Drowsy Chaperone begins as
the man in the chair looks on. Mix in two lovers on the eve of their
wedding, a bumbling best man, a desperate theatre producer, a not-sobright hostess, two gangsters posing as pastry chefs, a misguided Don
Juan and an intoxicated chaperone, and you have the ingredients for an
evening of madcap delight.
Hailed by New York Magazine as “The Perfect Broadway Musical,” The
Drowsy Chaperone is a masterful meta-musical, poking fun at all the
tropes that characterize the musical theatre genre.

MEET THE DIRECTORS
Dayna Strickland, Director
Dayna has been working with Pope Drama all year and
she is SO excited and SO sad to see the last show of
the year go up for you all to enjoy. Day went to Western
Carolina University where she attended the School of
Stage and Screen and studied under the Broadway
legend Terrence Mann, and received a BFA in Theatre
with a concentration in Acting. During school she worked
in Ohio where she trained in the art of stage combat
through the SAFD. Post graduation she immediately
moved to the majestic NYC where she fell in love with improv thorough her
training at The Upright Citizens Brigade but then shortly realized, “hey it’s
cold here” and moved to Atlanta, which was the best decision of her life
because she met her (now) husband shortly after and discovered her love
for teaching. When she isn’t directing a show, Day is either traveling around
presenting educational theatre for schools or teaching/coaching out of her
own studio in Atlanta. She wants to thank the dedicated parents of Pope
Theatre, for without them we would be nothing and because of them we are
a great theatrical force. She also wants to thank her husband for loving her
every day and being so supportive of her career. Over this school year Day
has fallen head over heels for all the kids and parents involved in drama and
she is so proud of them! “Thank you for letting me be a part of your lives, you
have changed mine forever and I love you all for it.”
Jaclyn Helms, Choreographer
Jaclyn was raised near Asheville, NC where she first
got a taste for dance at the age of 12. She immediately
became involved in children’s theatre and dance. Later,
she attended Western Carolina University’s acting
program. She graduated with a B.F.A. in Acting for
stage and screen, and minored in dance. Film became
a big love for Jaclyn at WCU, so upon graduation she
moved to Wilmington, NC where she was known for
her stand-in work on Eastbound and Down and the
independent film, River Guard. She quickly decided to come to Atlanta to
pursue her career in film acting. Her latest work has been a feature in the
new film Table 19 staring Anna Kendrick and Wyatt Russell. However, Jaclyn
still has the urge to dance and choreograph more. Her choreography has
been seen in EDIN’s annual Celebrity Dance Challenge to make awareness
for eating disorders, with dance partner Brian Moote from the Bert Show.
She has studied ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, and modern for over 12 years, and
is so thankful to have the opportunity to teach such an inspiring group of
students. She would like to thank Pope High School for bringing her back to
where her love for entertainment began.
Jennifer Loudermilk, Music Director
Jennifer is thrilled to be music directing such a
phenomenal cast. She began studying voice over 25 years
ago. She has several years of experience teaching voice
privately as well as music directing at various theatres
in the metro Atlanta area. She studied Education at
East Carolina University and is a recent graduate from
Kennesaw State University with a degree in Modern
Languages and Cultures and a concentration in Spanish
Education. She was also a member of the KSU Women’s
Chorus. Her teachers and coaches have included Marshall E. Butler Jr., Dr.
Janna K. Brendell, Elaine Diab-Baker, Dr. Kevin R. Hibbard and Dr. Alison
Mann. Jennifer currently studies voice with longtime Atlanta teacher and
Julliard graduate, Erin Coleman. Jennifer is a member of Collegium Vocale
Choir at Emory University as well as a member of the Epsilon Alpha chapter of
Sigma Beta Sorority. She was nominated for 2 Metropolitan Atlanta Theatre
(MAT) awards in their 2011 season one for Best Music Direction for Into the
Woods with CCT and one for Best Supporting Actress as Asaka in Once On
This Island at Act3 Productions. Jennifer was also nominated in the 2013 MAT
Award season for Best Supporting Actress as Paulette Bonafonté in Legally
Blonde. Most recently, she was nominated in the 2014 MAT Award season
for Best Music Direction for The Great American Trailer Park Musical as
well as winning Best Major Supporting Actress as Bad Ass Betty in the same
musical. Other acting and directing credits include: Titanic: The Musical, All
Shook Up, Cats, Rent, Godspell, Once Upon a Mattress, By Wheel and By
Wing (staged reading), Seussical, Songs for a New World, Hairspray, How To
Succeed in Business among many others. When not teaching or performing
in productions, she sings with her mother Anneice across the United States
and abroad. Thank you to all that have helped and supported this production,
it could not have happened without you. Enjoy the show!

Ofek Adar (George)
Ofek is a senior at Pope this year. Ofek has had a wild time in Pope
Theater. He started off his theater career in The 25th Annual Putnam
County Spelling Bee (Leaf Coneybear), and you may have seen him
in this year’s productions of Aliens vs. Cheerleaders (Flint), Peter and
the Starcatcher (Prentiss), and he’s ending his Pope theater career
with The Drowsy Chaperone. Through his high school endeavors,
Pope Theater has always had a place in Ofek’s heart. It breaks him to
be leaving this amazing community of inspiring people: Day, Jaclyn,
Jenn, my parents, and all my friends in Pope Theater. He would like
to thank these people for giving him the motivation to keep trying,
to never give up. No, seriously, he loves you all. Ofek knows that this
impressive cast and crew, after pouring their blood, sweat, and tears
into this production, will blow you away.
Kylie-Marie Andrews (Hair & Makeup Assistant)
Kylie-Marie is a senior at Pope and has been in Drama Club for four
years. She’s been in The Sound of Music and Haunted Theater. For
The Drowsy Chaperone, she’s thrilled to be helping with hair and
makeup. She wants to say thank you to her family and friends for
always supporting her.
Katie Bartlett (Ensemble/Dance Captain)
Katie is a junior at Pope High School. She has been in and helped
with many shows here at Pope including Spelling Bee and Aliens vs.
Cheerleaders. Katie has had a blast being the dance captain and
multiple roles at the same time. This show was one of the hardest
shows she has been in but has been the most enjoyable by far. Katie
thanks you for coming out and she hopes you enjoy the show!
Lily Bell (Stage Manager)
Lily is a sophomore and this is her third show with Pope. You may
have seen her earlier this year in Aliens vs. Cheerleaders or Peter
and the Starcatcher. Some of her other precious credits include,
Peter Pan (Wendy), Alice in Wonderland (Alice), Little Shop of
Horrors (Mrs. Luce); and Charlie and The Chocolate Factory
(Veruca). She is so excited to finally dive into technical theater as
The Drowsy Chaperone Stage Manager! She would like to thank
Dayna Strickland (Director) for putting faith in her as well as Pope
Theater, her family for their continuous support, Harry Styles, and
especially her mother for buying the 3 packs of Post-It Notes it took
to put all 300 cues in her script.
Brianna Boehm (Stage Manager/Set Designer)
As a senior, this is Brianna’s final show at Pope High School, and
she is so glad she gets to share it with this amazing cast. She most
recently co-directed Peter and the Starcatcher with some kid she
knows named Matthew. You also may have seen her set design for
The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. She would like to
thank Day for being an amazing director, peer, mentor, and friend
throughout this past year, and her family for supporting her in theatre
and encouraging her career as a director. But mostly she would like
to thank this cast and Pope Theatre as a whole for introducing her
to this incredible world of theatre, helping her through thick and
thin, and guiding her to find not just a career, but a place where she
belongs. She loves you all. Now that we’re done with the corny stuff,
she hopes you enjoy the show!
Dan Crew (Sound Technician)
Dan is extremely excited to be apart of The Drowsy Chaperone as

part in Haunted Theater: Iron Bar Hotel doubling as Co-Head of Hair
and Makeup, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (Props
Master), Haunted Theater: Mad in Wonderland (Head of Hair and
Makeup), Aliens vs. Cheerleaders (Props Master), and Peter and the

of being Props Master for The Drowsy Chaperone. Sammy hopes
to continue technical theatre throughout her life. She would like to
thank all the wonderful people that help make Pope Drama happen.

Pope Theatre. She has been involved in tech during Moon Over
Buffalo here at Pope as Assistant to the Head of Hair and Makeup,
and was Head of Hair and Makeup during this year’s productions
of Aliens vs. Cheerleaders and Peter and the Starcatcher. This is her
first experience actually performing on the stage in a Pope Theatre
musical production and she is very excited! She would like to thank
her friends and family for supporting her in everything she does,
as well as the cast and crew for making this show such a wonderful
experience. She hopes you enjoy the show!
Michael Dotson (Robert Martin)
Michael is thrilled to be wrapping up his senior year with his last ever
Pope musical! Four years ago the theatre welcomed a lost, awkward
boy and now sets loose a young man with big dreams and a whole lot
of passion. It’s given him a home, and he couldn’t be more grateful.
He’d like to thank his parents, his wonderful mentors Dayna and
Jax, his best friends (#Clue), and the entire Drowsy cast for giving
him a little tune to sing when he’s blue. Past credits include: Peter
Pan (Peter and the Starcatcher), Paul Singer (Moon Over Buffalo),
Theseus (A Midsummer Night’s Dream at the Atlanta Shakespeare’s
Tavern), Hamlet (Hamlet), and Chip Tolentino (The 25th Annual

elated to be given the opportunity to continue acting throughout
high school. He looks forward to the future, and possibly continuing
his acting career even after he has left Pope.

One Act, and now The Drowsy Chaperone musical. She has definitely
found her place in theater and hopes to continue, whether it is acting

Ali Limbacker (Mr. Feldzeig)
Hey what’s up, it’s your boy Jemare, but you can call me Ali. I’m a
sophomore, joined Pope Theater last year and thought it was great.
So I did a couple shows and couldn’t stop doing it. I’d like to continue
drama for the rest of high school. Good so now that we got that out
of the way, let me think of something to say... I usually try really hard
to come up with a good bio for all of you guys to read, but I just felt
like talking to you guys this time. I want to know how you’ve been.
How’s it going? How’s life? How are the kids? Or who’s your favorite
character? Have you finished the show? Did you like it? I know, it’s
crazy right? At least I thought so. We had such a good time making
the show the best it could be. The cast worked really hard on it, so
yeah. If you liked our performance this won’t be the last time you
see most of us. Come and see more shows in the future. Bet it’ll be
just as good as The Drowsy Chaperone or even better. So yeah that’s
about it I hope you enjoy it. Oh yeah, and if you read this til the end,
thanks. You’re the real MVP. Seriously. Hey until next time, Peace. I
hope we meet again.

her amazing parents for supporting her with everything she does.
Finally, she’d like to thank her best friend/brother who has inspired

show to its fullest.
Abigail Wohlfarth (Ensemble)
Abigail Wohlfarth is super excited to be a part of her first production

able to make more drama memories in her senior year next year!
Emma Wohlfarth (Superintendent/Ensemble)
Emma is jazzed to be working with Pope Drama once again to bring
the hilarious The Drowsy Chaperone to life on stage for you all. She
had the honor of performing in Peter and the Starcatcher with Pope

many other productions within the community. She hopes to keep
the fire burning strong as a senior next year, and cannot express how
much she will miss those leaving for greater theaters this year. Enjoy

much distance may be between you. Love, Mom & Dad
