Postdoc position in Biodiversity Synthesis:
"Upscaling Biodiversity-Ecosystem Function Relationships in Real-World Landscapes"
(full time)
We are seeking a quantitative ecologist to work on the upscaling of biodiversity-ecosystem function
relationships in ‘real-world’ landscapes. In this project, the successful applicant will collect data from the
areas surrounding the Biodiversity Exploratories grassland plots and combine this with comprehensive
existing data to construct statistical models. These will then be used to project biodiversity-ecosystem
functioning relationships to the landscape scale. The project builds on our existing synthesis work from the
Biodiversity Exploratories project and aims to deliver high-impact publications and robust management
recommendations. The work will be conducted in close cooperation with Dr Peter Manning and Dr. Fons Van
der Plas of BiK-F, the Plant Ecology group of the University of Bern and many others within the Biodiversity
Exploratories research community.
