What is Vecoxan?
It is a highly effective anticoccidial drench for sheep and goats containing Diclazural
How to use the drench:
Use 2 ml per 5kg body mass orally.
In Individual animals where Diarrhoea persists after the initial treatment, a second treatment after 5
days is recommended.
When to use:
One option is to treat when coccidiosis infection strikes sheep, administer Vecoxan to all the sheep in
that group.
This will result in a rapid and impressive recovery rate amongst the sick sheep, while also having a
positive effect on any lambs not yet showing symptoms ( sheep that have subclinical coccidiosis),
thereby preventing further gut damage, and minimizing the impact of disease on production.
Important to bear in mind that if the first Vecoxan treatment has been given too late, or the oocyst
load in the lambs environment is excessive, a second dose of Vecoxan may be required.
Another option is to use it preventatively.
This can be done by dosing with Vecoxan before an expected outbreak occurs ( based on history and
experience of the disease on the farm, bearing in mind the prevailing conditions and stress factors).
What are the key benefits of using Vecoxan in sheep and goats ?
1. Quick, Effective results




Vecoxan clears clinical signs in days.
Vecoxan rapidly lowers oocyst counts, thereby reducing the subsequent challenge
A single treatment is normally all you need to give your animals time to develop their
own natural immunity to the disease.
Remember that when diarrhoea does persist after treatment, a second treatment after 5
days is recommended
2. Interference with natural immunity

Vecoxan does not interfere with the sheep's natural immunity
3. Can be used at same time as a worm drench
4. Short Meat withdrawal period

Allow 24 hours between last treatment and slaughter of animals for human consumption
5. Tried and trusted worldwide … to deliver results you can depend on.

Vecoxan's active ingredient has been used successfully for coccidiosis control worldwide
for many years.
Warnings and Precautions:
Vecoxan is not recommended for use in milk goats whose milk is intended for human
consumption.
Allow 24 hours between last treatment and slaughter for human consumption
Keep out of reach of uninformed people.
As with all oral remedies, it is advisable to ensure that animals have been immunised against
pulpy kidney disease before drenching.
Wash hands thoroughly after use.
Prevent contamination of food, food utensils, water sources etc.
Handle with care.
Vecoxan can be used in all classes of sheep and goats, irrespective of age, sex, condition or stage of
pregnancy and under normal practices of management, nutrition and mating, but not in milk goats
milk intended for human consumption.
