Bucket Teeth
Options & Replacement parts
for Excavator
Buckets
Penetration & Protection
Choosing the right Ground Engaging Tool (GET) for your bucket
is important to getting the highest return on your machine
investment. Bucket Teeth options protect the expensive parts
of your buckets and the resulting longer life reduces your
maintenance costs. Bucket Teeth also play a big part in how well
your machine performs in a specific application.
In addition to choosing teeth with your initial bucket purchase,
they can be changed or replaced during the life of your bucket.
Contact your Cat dealer to understand the many options and for
technical assistance in selecting the bucket teeth you need for
each specific job.
TEETH OPTIONS FOR 311-314; 390 CAT® EXCAVATORS
Long
Heavy Duty Long
Use on larger machines in general
loading and excavation work. Has
longer wear life and greater strength.
Use in most general applications.
Short
Wide
Use in high-impact and pry-out work
such as rock. Extremely strong.
Provides a clean floor. Increases
capacity with less spillage.
Heavy Duty Abrasion
Penetration
Use on larger machines when
working sand, gravel and shot rock.
Penetration Plus
Use in densely-compacted material
such as clay. Gives enhanced
penetration. Self-sharpening.
Twin Sharp
Use in difficult to penetrate material
with moderate-to-high impact
conditions such as sedimentary rock,
cemented gravel or poorly shot rock.
Use for enhanced fracture capability.
Less penetration than sharp tip. More
wear material than sharp tip.
Ground Engaging Tools (GET) for Excavator Buckets: Teeth
TEETH OPTIONS FOR 315–390 CAT® EXCAVATORS
Penetration Plus
Penetration
Recommended for most excavator
applications including high impact
trenching, excavation and loading.
Good penetration. Stays sharp.
General Duty
Recommended for harder-to-penetrate,
moderate impact, lower abrasive
materials. Very good penetration, less
wear material, stays sharp.
Heavy Abrasion
Recommended for general excavation
and loading in moderate impact
and abrasive conditions. Moderate
penetration, self-sharpening cavities.
Extra Duty
Use on larger machines when
working in sand, gravel and shot rock.
Maximum wear material.
Spike
Recommended for general excavation
and loading requiring more wear
material in moderate impact
conditions. Moderate penetration.
Wide
Recommended for maximum
penetration, especially in cohesive
materials. Excellent penetration, less
wear material, stays sharp. (Use
Double Spike in corners.)
Double Spike
Recommended for easy-to-penetrate
trenching applications where smooth
floors are required.
Recommended for harder-to-penetrate,
fracturable materials. Very good
penetration, stays sharp. Use in corner
positions with Spike centers.
