SECTION 2: HAZARDS IDENTIFICATION
EMERGENCY OVERVIEW:
Contact with acids may liberate toxic gas. Contact with strong oxidizing agents may cause
explosive reaction. Combustion may liberate toxic fumes of carbon dioxide, calcium hydroxide,
hydrogen sulfide and sulfur dioxide.
ROUTES OF ENTRY:
Inhalation, ingestion, eyes and skin contact.
POTENTIAL HEALTH EFFECTS
EYES: May cause moderate eye irritation
MATERIAL SAFETY DATA SHEET
SKIN: Chronic skin contact may cause primary irritant dermatitis.
INGESTION: Powder may be harmful if swallowed. May liberate hydrogen sulfide in the stomach,
which may cause sever irritation to the gastrointestinal tract. Once the powder is mixed with the gel, this
risk is significantly reduced.
INHALATION: Before mixing, the product contains alkali calcium salts which may cause severe
irritation to the throat and lungs. Once the powder is mixed with the gel, this risk is significantly
reduced.
MEDICAL CONDITIONS GENERALLY AGGRAVATED BY EXPOSURE:
Preexisting skin disorders.
SECTION 4: FIRST AID MEASURES
EYES: Immediately flush eyes with running water for 15 minutes. Obtain immediate medical aid.
SKIN: Wash with soap and water. Remove contaminated clothing and launder before reuse.
INGESTION: Do not induce vomiting. Wash mouth out with water. Drink two glasses of milk and call
a physician
INHALATION: For excessive breathing of powder, vapors or spray mist, remove victim to fresh air.
SECTION 5: FIRE-FIGHTING MEASURES
FLASH POINT:
F: Above 200°
C: Above 93.3°
FLAMMABLE LIMITS:
Not established
EXTINGUISHING MEDIA:
Dry chemical, Chemical foam, CO2. Do not use water.

SPECIAL FIRE FIGHTING PROCEDURES:
Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and protective clothing to prevent contact with skin and
eyes.
UNUSUAL FIRE AND EXPLOSION HAZARDS:
May undergo explosive reaction on contact with strong oxidizing agents. Emits toxic fumes under
fire conditions. Container explosions may occur under fire conditions.
SECTION 6: ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES
Release or Spill
Contain the spill, wear protective clothing, return to suitable container and hold for disposal.
SECTION 7: HANDLING AND STORAGE
Handling and Storage
Normal care in handling and storage. Keep from freezing. Do not heat. Keep out of reach of
children.
SECTION 8: EXPOSURE CONTROLS/PERSONAL PROTECTION
Personal Protective Equipment: Respiratory
Where excess mist or vapor exposure may be encountered, a NIOSH approved organic vapor
respirator may be used.
Personal Protective Equipment: Skin
Neoprene or equivalent.
Personal Protective Equipment: Eye / Face
Safety glasses.
Protective Clothing or Equipment
As required.
