Sunrise RIS TM Key benefits • Enhances efficiency for radiology staff • Increases accessibility to referring physicians for viewing exams, reports and images, as well as ordering and scheduling online • Secures protected health information • Automates access to images, exam information and related patient data • Streamlines ordering, scheduling, reporting and managing of radiology services • Improves consultations between radiologists and referring clinicians • Eliminates need for additional stand-alone systems for speech recognition and mammography services • Automates access to images, exam information and related patient data Streamlining radiology information management workflows An advanced radiology information system (RIS), Sunrise RIS allows healthcare providers to securely manage the flow of data in real-time from any location with Internet access. This powerful, intuitive system is designed to facilitate administration, workflow, management and best practices in radiology. As part of Eclipsys Diagnostic Imaging Solutions™, Sunrise RIS can be integrated with Sunrise picture archiving and communication system, Sunrise PACS™, powered by Sectra. This provides real-time connectivity and a complete paperless toolset for managing every stage of a radiology exam — from the moment the order is placed, to the generation of the bill. Sunrise RIS also offers integrated speech recognition capabilities and mammography reporting and tracking. Sunrise RIS and Sunrise PACS can be used together, as standalone options, or as components of Eclipsys’ enterprise-wide solution, Sunrise Clinical Manager™. For clinicians, Sunrise RIS provides each user with a simple but powerful inter face that is tailored to their role, ensuring that all users’ workflows are optimized and screen time is minimized. For healthcare organizations, Sunrise RIS reduces costs while increasing patient and physician satisfaction. Key features Patient scheduling A sophisticated scheduling system facilitates centralized booking for multi-site facilities. In addition to its highly acclaimed grid-style scheduler, Sunrise RIS also includes the wizard-based Turbo-Scheduler, which allows one-step booking of multiple coordinated appointments for a patient. Patient arrival Sunrise RIS accelerates the reception process. Patients can quickly be identified from an expected arrivals list and walk-ins can be easily registered. At the point of arrival, users can update the patient’s demographic record and insurance information, as well as generate barcoded labels. When direct payment is required, Sunrise RIS can also produce invoices. Technologist worklist The technologist worklist allows a technologist to view upcoming appointments, and indicates who has arrived. Technologists can mark the beginning and end of exams with a single click, order additional exams and enter their observations, either free text or graphics. Diagnostic review Sunrise RIS is tightly integrated with Sunrise PACS and can dynamically interact with most DICOM viewers, so that images are displayed automatically as an exam is selected for dictation. Key images can be captured, annotated and included within the diagnostic report. The radiologist can create one-click normal reports or can generate reports from templates that include multiple-choice or fill-in-the-blank prompts. Digital dictation and transcription Sunrise RIS includes an MP3 dictation module. It allows radiologists to interpret studies remotely from any Internet location. The Sunrise RIS transcription module supports foot-pedal control and variable-speed playback. Speech recognition Sunrise RIS offers an integrated module that dynamically converts speech to text with a high degree of accuracy. It employs Dictaphone’s PowerScribe Software Developer’s Kit, embedded into the Sunrise RIS application. This optimizes the workflow for the radiologist and improves report turnaround time. The radiologist’s speech dictation is instantaneously displayed as text, which the radiologist can review and sign immediately. The final diagnostic report is automatically delivered to the referring physician via fax, email or as a result in the electronic patient record. Mammography reporting and tracking Sunrise RIS incorporates advanced mammography reporting and tracking into the standard RIS workflow. Mammography procedures use the same processes employed for all exams, including scheduling, patient arrival, technologist tools, diagnostic review and automatic report distribution, ensuring efficiency at every stage. Sunrise RIS also provides the administrative support necessary to ensure compliance with the Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA). In addition, Sunrise RIS has an interactive patient recall and follow-up module as well as support for BI-RADS assessment coding. Report distribution Referring physicians can be immediately notified by email when a radiologist has recorded an opinion. The physician can then listen to the radiologist’s MP3 recording and view the diagnostic images online, all via a Web browser. Finalized diagnostic reports are automatically distributed by email and/or fax according to the preference of each recipient. Automated billing Sunrise RIS supports automated transfer of patient demographic and exam billing data to a wide variety of billing systems. In most cases, this eliminates the need for data entry in the billing system, saving time and reducing costly errors. Optionally, Sunrise RIS can be delivered with a sophisticated billing module, including online insurance eligibility verification and electronic insurance submission and reconciliation. Statistical reporting Sunrise RIS can generate a wide variety of analytical and administrative reports that provide decision support to managers, allowing them to monitor and improve quality and productivity. Sunrise RIS has an Enterprise/Worklist Snapshots Subscription Service. This Web-based service allows users to subscribe to email notifications for certain changes in their worklists. Administrators are automatically alerted when service levels, wait times or staff work backlogs are outside of acceptable parameters. Security and privacy All of the HIPAA requirements and recommendations pertaining to software systems are supported by Sunrise RIS: • 128-bit SSL encryption • Biometric authentication • Encrypted passwords • Suspension of log-in privileges after repeated password violations • Automatic user log-off after a period of inactivity • Detailed audit trails • User-specific profiles and privileges • Secure digital signatures • Support for firewalls, intrusion detection and Virtual Private Networks • Standardized code sets About Eclipsys Eclipsys is a leading provider of advanced clinical, financial and management information software and service solutions to more than 1,500 healthcare facilities.
