BASIC CONCEPTS
I. River System Principle: Treatment of floods within
each river system as much as possible.
1) Penggaron River System
BKT, Babon, Dombo-Sayung River System
2) Dolok River System
3) Kebon Batur Canal: Stop Inter-basin Flood Transfer
 To close the inlet sluice gate during floods after
completion of the future river improvement of the
Dolok River.
 To open the inlet sluice gate in normal period for
water use and environment.
II. Design Scale: 50-year Return Period of Flood

Penggaron River System:
 Utilize the Natural
Retarding Basin as it is.
 River Improvements of
the BKT, Babon and
Dombo-Sayung Rivers.
Dolok River System:
 Existing River
 Close the Inlet Gate of
the Kebon Batur Canal
during floods

Note:
Design discharge of BKT_Alt-2 is
set at the same discharge of the
Alt-1 for conservative
consideration. This is because,
although the simulated discharge
of Alt-2 in the mid-stream to
downstream reaches is smaller than
that of Alt-1, timing of joining the
discharge from the tributaries
cannot be fixed like simulation.
