Notice from Board and Administration of Bay Side Home re: Recent Communications
Recent social media posts suggesting a staff shortage at Bay Side Home are incorrect. Through
its website the home continuously advertises and welcomes applications for a variety of work,
including nursing, continuing care assistants, dietary staff, housekeepers, laundry, recreation
and maintenance. Unless there is a specific opening, applications are received and considered
for possible casual employment on a continual and ongoing basis. At present, the only specific
opening is for two full time registered nurses. Those interested in employment opportunities
with Bay Side Home are encouraged to consult the Bay Side Home website and/or to inquire
directly.
Staff turnover, recruitment and retention are routine and recurring matters for an organization
like Bay Side Home. Like any employer, the Board is not at liberty to publicly comment on
specific personnel matters, nor is there reason to do so. Any current openings are being
advertised and will be filled in the ordinary course, through regular recruitment and selection
processes. Those interested in “employment opportunities” with Bay Side Home are
encouraged to consult the Bay Side Home website to obtain an External Application Form to be
completed and returned with a resume and cover letter. All current openings are advertised on
the Government of Canada Job Bank and on Career Beacon.
