Spelling Contract
Spelling Contract:
* Choose 20 points worth of activities.
* Completed contract is due on Friday.
*Please label each activity and how much it is worth.
(Ex. Alphabetize words 5 points)
* Make sure you do the number of activities that will add up to 20 point.
* You can only do activities one time per spelling list.
* Remember to use your best handwriting.
5 Point Activities
1. Alphabetize the words
2. Reverse alphabetize the words
3. Write your words using the color red for vowels and the color blue for consonants
4. Write your words once in cursive and once in print
5. Write your words three times each in different colors
10 Point Activities
1. Write ach word three times in your best handwriting.
2. Make a picture dictionary for each spelling word. Write each word and draw a picture
to illustrate it.
3. Write the word and find the value of it A=$.50, B = $1.00, C=$1.50, D=$2.00,
E=$2.50, and so on. (For example BAD = $3.50)
4. Write 10 questions underlining the spelling words. Remember the 5 W’s = who, what,
when, where, why.
5. Use each word in a sentence. Underline the spelling words.
15 Point Activities
1. Write the word and the definition for each of your spelling words
2. Write a story underlining at least 12 of your spelling words. Use your best
handwriting. Don’t forget to include a beginning, middle, and end.
3. Make a word search using www.puzzlemaker.com. Print the word search and then
complete it.
4. Write a poem using at least 8 of your spelling words.
5. Write a song using at least 8 of your spelling words. Tell what tune is used to the
sing the song. (Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star)
20 Point Activities
1. Make a crossword puzzle using www.puzzlemaker.com. You will need clues for each
word. Print the puzzle and complete it.
2. Write sentences using the letters in each spelling word.
For example, tree = Tom really enjoys eggs.
3. Spell your spelling words using newspaper or magazine letters (large letters not the
tiny print)
