HOW TO EARN CREDIT
IN HIGH SCHOOL
• McEachern is currently block schedule.
• You will take 4 classes each semester.
• You must pass English, Math, and Science and two
other classes to move on to 10th grade
• Students are encouraged to take rigorous courses.
• An Advanced Placement (AP) course can possibly
earn college credit depending on the AP exam score
for that class.
• A student who is new to rigor may want to try an
honor’s course before taking an AP course.

• Divide points total by the number of classes you
completed=GPA!
• Honors= extra .5 and AP= extra 1 quality point.
AP and College Success™
Students who take
AP courses and

What’s the difference
between AP and honors?
• AP courses are designed and updated annually
to reflect what’s being taught
in cutting-edge college courses.
• Students receive an external evaluation—
the AP Exam—which is scored by college
faculty from around the world who verify that
the student has mastered college-level studies.
