-Eubacteria Kingdom
2. Archae
-Archaebacteria Kingdom
3. Eykarya
-Protist Kingdom
-Fungi Kingdom
-Plant Kingdom
-Animal Kingdom
Characteristics of organisms in each kingdom:
Eubacteria Kingdom:
-unicellular
- prokaryotes (no nucleus)
-cell walls with peptidoglycan
Archaebacteria Kingdom:
-unicellular
-prokaryotes (no nucleus)
-cell walls withOUT peptidoglycan
-contain unusual lipids in cell membrane not found in any other organisms
Protist Kingdom:
-eukaryotes (have nucleus)
-most are unicellular (except algae)
-some are autotrophs (plant-like)
-some are heterotrophs (animal-like)
Fungi Kingdom:
-eukaryotes (have nucleus)
-most are multicellular (except yeast)
-heterotrophs (must obtain food)
Plant Kingdom:
-multicellular
-eukaryotes
-autotrophs (make own food through photosynthesis)
-non-mobile
-have cell walls
Animal Kingdom:
-multicellular
-eukaryotes
-heterotrophs (must obtain food)
-mobile
-do NOT have cell walls
