The program supports the mission, vision, values, and beliefs of Jackson College by endeavoring to be the leading education resource in the community for cardiac sonography professionals. DEFINE PROGRAM/DISCIPLINE LEVEL LEARNING OUTCOMES Program Goal: To prepare competent entry-level cardiac sonographers in the cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills), and affective (behavior) learning domains. Successful graduates will: 1. Demonstrate the ability to operate cardiovascular ultrasound equipment, and determine proper technique to produce quality sonographic images (psychomotor). 2. Demonstrate the ability to obtain, assess, and analyze cardiovascular sonographic images for the purpose of physician diagnosis (cognitive). 3. Demonstrate the ability to recognize normal and abnormal cardiovascular anatomy, and recognize cardiovascular pathologic conditions (cognitive). 4. Demonstrate the ability to anticipate and provide basic patient care and comfort during sonographic procedures (affective). 5. Display behaviors and attitudes that show sensitivity and acceptance of individual and cultural differences---respecting diversity (cognitive, affective). 6. Demonstrate readiness to sit for national board exams by meeting or exceeding measureable didactic and clinical benchmarks (cognitive, psychomotor)
